Wagon stoke?
story from another thread:
https://vtdigger.org/news-brief/st-a...un-at-trooper/
State police said Detective Trooper Michael Mattuchio was on duty, driving an unmarked Vermont State Police Jeep Cherokee, when he spotted a black 2006 Mercedes station wagon that he paced at about 100 mph in the passing lane on I-89.
The station wagon abruptly pulled into the travel lane, and as Mattuchio pulled even with the Mercedes, the driver, later identified as Camley, displayed a handgun, according to a state police press release. Police said the handgun had a round in the firing chamber.
Mattuchio pulled behind the station wagon, activated his blue lights and stopped the Mercedes. Camley was compliant and cooperative, police said.

I've been perusing Craigslist lately for a cheap, fun car and this manual, 530xi wagon popped locally up for $2200:

"needs work and has electrical gremlins"
It will be a nightmare to own but fuck it's tempting.

LMAO. Gotta love how EVERY CL ad I've seen for older BMWs have dashes lit up light Christmas trees. That said, for THAT model with THAT transmission and THAT price, I would definitely grab it as a project car. You should get it. Then join us in the Wrenching thread! Seriously. It'd be fun. Painful, but fun. My relationship with old European cars is a a bit sadomasochistic tho. I love em.

Just saw this rare beauty pop up on CL. A 1973 Volvo P1800ES. Not gonna lie. If I had some shop space and the spare coin, I'd honestly be all over this car. With a full stripping and quality, fresh paint job and a full restoration effort, and this car could be the stuff that dreams are made of. ESPECIALLY if I gave it the Cyan treatment. /drool

It is amazing a 300k mile car can sell for $12k, but ya, I love that model. Likely need at least $20k to get it right.

Yeah. Easily $20K. At minimum. Paint job alone will easily be over $10K these days. ...worth it.
300K ain't nothing for the trusty P1800 tho. Could you imagine how sweet this car would be fully restored and tastefully modded? Hot damn. Would be teh sex.

It's not often you find a wagon that still has 700k left in it. Strong buy.

Given the option (that we don't have), I'm probably still in an RS4 Avant over it just cause I prefer the Auto Union's quality over that of the Munich-mobiles.I still call it The Jake.
