any idea as to the cost? Any bozeman mags want to head over there and find out some details for us?
a scanner basically captures an image of whatever you place on it and converts it to a digital form. Too pad there is no other device that could capture images in such a formOriginally Posted by Smoke

Fair enough. I'll try to remember to pick up a copy and scan it next time I'm out.

Was briefly referenced here:

Otherwise, impressive how quiet they've kept this.
Also, ARVA packs are compatible with the ABS Vario system:

Anyone want to play guess the price? I'm going with a buck a cubic inch. $2600
That thing looks sick though, appears much more functional as a pack than the BCAs I've seen

As a member of the sales staff working on the Black Jack AE project at Mystery Ranch I thought I would fill you in on a couple of details. First, the price of the system including the airbag will less than $900 when available for retail sale. The airbag is designed, built and tested by Avi Vest and can be installed in the Mystery Ranch Blackjack pack. The weight is approximately 8lbs with all components, and the airbag system takes up about 3.5 lbs of that. Watch Wild Snow for comprehensive compressions of all the airbag safety systems this season.

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

Interesting idea about the remote trigger (not actually on this pack, for the record... just an idea he had). Your partner could have said control while you descend... takes on thing out of the equation if shit hits the fan.
Untill you cell phone accidentally triggers it while not needed.

Looks awesome, Price though, puts it squarely in with all the other high end overpriced almost 1k airbags. Better pack design though, by far, but BY FAR, NOT WORTH 900USD.
You guys on crack? seriously, crack cocaine?
Good attempt though.Terje was right.

Mystery stuff is expensive no matter what it is. They pay all their employees a living wage and give them health insurance (which is unheard of in Montana). That cost has to get passed on to someone. I think that they also tack on a little extra so that they can buy more crack. The shop is always super clean though!
The stuff does last forever. It looks like a nice design.Keep your tips up and always remember to unhook your pack from the chair...

I want to believe....this is from their blog.
"Your Mystery Ranch backpack arrives and it is a dream pack, sturdy and well built. Behind each pack is a crew of super skilled production employees, who meticulously hand-make and inspect each product that Mystery Ranch produces. The design was originally created, then prototypes were tested. The fabric is hand-cut, the pack is hand-sewn, the foam is hand-stuffed and many eyes have looked over every nook and cranny of the pack. Mystery Ranch employees sew through multiple layers of tough fabric and a myriad of fastenings and straps. The crew behind the packs are outstanding. Rigorous high standards and a crew known for their technical precision are what sets Mystery Ranch Backpacks beyond ordinary outdoor packs. Each pack is finely hand-crafted right here in the USA."Terje was right.
