Yup. Tell him you heard on the interwebz that he's the man and then challenge him to a breath holding contest

I saw his Roy Stuart board the other day, so awesome.
When Keith heard about me getting jerked around by the police, he dropped everything and immediately went out to surf that exact spot...pretty fucking awesome.

This thread has so much win.
Fighting the man for use of the wilderness.
Using the outdoors for therapy/personal happiness/fulfillment.
Braving the elements.
Surfing.
Taking that surfboard through snowy woods is my fav pic so far. IcicleMan is a close second.
Love this thread so much.Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each.

Yeti, he's a pretty awesome kinda guy. I saw him posting on FB about someone getting harassed by the police for surfing. I didn't put it all together until yesterday when I read through this post and realized you were the one getting hassled and you guys had photos from the same photographer, so figured you were surfing the same breaks. Sad the community keeps calling the cops on you guys, major suckage on their part.

NO shit?! That's even better surf than we normally get over here in the North Sea (Netherlands).
Dude, fight the man for a righteous cause!

I mean, the are anly trying to keep the water clean. Yetis are not know for personal hygiene.
Some of that video is sick considering it is a lake. I knew you guys got waves, but that is better than what rog gets I believe. And props on braving the cold. Getting out of that water must bring a gnarly chill to the bones.

I went to university in Thunder Bay and we used to go around to the south side of the lake once a year if the surf was good.
Never got it near as good as that though!
Keep fighting the good fight!
Those pics of you running through the snow and the frozen beard are ridiculous

The local fishwrap printed a letter on surfing the big lake on the West end.

Quite a day today. Had overhead waves in a few sheltered areas while the wind was still blowing hard. Went for Mom's day dinner, then hustled back out for smooth little rollers at sunset after the wind had quit for an hour or two and everything had calmed down. Pretty good day...you know, for a lake.
EDIT:

sorry, should have mentioned that (unlike my other posts) those ones from preconcievednoceans.com aren't current. I just found that website and thought it was cool.
The lake is wide open now.

Yes! That is like the equivalent of skiing on a dusting of snow on grass.

I was just up there the weekend of the 20th and took the wife around Presque where the waves were pretty large even in black rocks; sure enough I saw a whole slew of people surfing in middle bay. Looked like a whole lot of fun, I had flatted out of the MTB race that day in Ishpeming and that really brought the day back up.
