The humidity was so high today the bedrock was sweating....kept things interesting as if I edged the bike too much on the vt slick rock, it lived up to its name. Going to be another great week for riding...

Good to be back on the bike after nine days off. Felt like a year!

Glad I wasn't around when this widowmaker came down. It's on a dbl track that's slightly downhill...will make a nice ramp launch possibly

Yeah we've had a couple of big ones come down around here recently too. Not because of wind or storminess, just so dry trees are flopping over. They're breaking off a few feet off the ground too rather than at the base like if it was from wind. Weird... I've been enjoying ramping them up with rocks and logs turning them into great high speed rollovers and launchers.

    that's crazy- wow
it was hard for me to believe NE was dry (bc it's so damn lush compared to wyo) but we went out on Lake Champlain and it was easy to see how low the lake level was

yea re: fat chance. usually rotate thru my old bikes when I get a new one but have never been able to bring myself to get rid of that one
it's funny to think I rd that bike everywhere with a fork that maybe had 60-70 mm of travel and I thought that was yuge!

Another nice Tuesday evening ride In the Mrv. A warm summery wind had dried things out pretty well so traction was much better today than yesterday.

ugggh Got word from the body shop today that it's at least 10 days until I get my car back. The adjuster said it's because the shop didn't submit the paperwork properly so the money isn't flowing from one to the other so parts weren't ordered and work hasn't been done. Fkn rental car sux, can't take a bike and upgrades are pricey. Our Outback is hurtin' and out of commission for a while and I had a rack failure on my Durango and dragged my bike a half mile the other day. It ground the handlebar and grip down about two inches thankfully no other damage though. I need to ride more....

Bummer about the car, good thing is those 800mm bars sucked anyway, just chop the other side down and you're good to go.
56` 0mph wind and 47` dew point = good riding weather. The wind was blowing hard last night and the sticks will be plentiful.

Sounds to me like the shop needs to be paying for an upgrade for you....

The General is getting after it.
Awesome weather for riding last night, plenty of roots and rocks to go over

Trail babies were out yesterday dumbing down the trails again. Taking out corners, clearing a 6' wide path of all living matter and chicken wiring a bridge that we have been riding for 25 years with no problems. Fuck You, babies

    SMBC Leaf Blower: October 9th

Come join us for group rides for all levels, from an 6hr epic to mellow casual pace, beverages and a feast to follow.
For those interested, I will be leading a ride hitting many of the older trails as well as the newer ones, around 25 miles or so. I'd be happy to answer any other questions about the event. Lotsa people, lotsa fun.

And, not interested in Stowe or SMBC bashing here. Suffice it to say that there are plenty of folks who have been riding Stowe for 20+ years who still love it...all of it.

You're such a Hater. Get over it, times change. Go find some other old trails to ride. You think you're so core. Flow trails are the best for everyone, just ride them faster. How are you gonna have fests, and group rides, and events to make money and grow the sport if MTBing is hard?

Rode Fort Rock last night. Dirt was in good shape. Stayed a little tacky from the rain and the morning fog we've been having. The newer trails over there are a blast!

..just cannot resist: So to say that since Telemarking is hard, it won't grow anymore?

Wait, since owning up to personal failures is hard, self-reflection is a dying idea?

These are offensive notions.. Squirtguns at 5 paces...mine is loaded with Tequila

    You didn't hear? Telemarking died.
