seriously, ladies, you want no part of macdoody, its like getting fuckd by a soup can. not personal experience, saw pinner walkin funny after a long night out with the mac a few years back

evil, i rode bikes with that dude this summer, funny how some of the locals are still seen in the "real" world, like foggles at the pass, pinner at the oriental, not that i have been out recently myself.

armchair was a classic, phunk is another lost to man on man love with xover. bwah.

there seems to be a revival of "old" times when the snow flies every year, hope to see everyone again from the neck up, slayin the deep stuff. UT-CO fo' reals.

I've missed the prose written by the Reverend Floater from years ago, I think it was even before the exodus. I also second DIMNS, his incoherent post busted my gut!

Yep, with some very minor exceptions (like NSFW threads with redheads in them, and perhaps some triathlon related threads) I'm pretty much stupified by the massive retahdedness, but hey, that's why I keep lurking, yes? I am looking forward to the ever increasing amount of trip reports that are starting to grace the board...

that is what makes the bullshit of the slack months... the tr's and random maggot meetings skiing. that is why we're here, for the most part.

That story had me on the edge of my seat with suspense and laughing so hard my co-workers wondered what on earth was going on. I still chuckle thinking about it.

You know, the history of this community is pretty cool and perhaps the experience is the same for the people joining the community now as it was in 2001 when I jumped into the PMag world. As a n00b I was fearful of a beat down, amused by a lot of things, in awe of the tight associations that existed, wondered about this summit and what was the deal with the term "maggot", posted only where I felt it added to the conversation, got stoked from the TR's and quite frankly didn't know what to make of meeting random people from the intenet. Heck, the first time I met Trackhead he was some guy from Arizona who sang a good tune and one I trusted enough to tie into a rope with the guy to climb Sundial Peak. Since then I've climbed more peaks with him than I can remember. So much for the real world being so disconnected from the interweb.

But I see new additions to the board and have seen them getting together in the backcountry, meeting up for skiing the resorts, biking, drinking, etc. and it's like a new cycle. Often times these n00bs have been the only ones that I can round up to climb and ski stuff that requires extra effort (you know who you are) or is long before the season opener and many weeks after the fat lady apparently sang.

The tomfoolery of the board never ends and each summer it seems to increase in volume and while the occasional n00b gets off on the wrong foot there are a few of the n00bs who "get it" and become part of what makes this place an ongoing community. Just like my neighborhood growing up, people come and people go. It's what you add to the mix while you're here that determines the direction and the feeling of the community.

So while I too enjoy a walk down memory lane and to think of the maggots who no longer seek change for a nickle, I look forward to seeing more people become part of this crazy place that from time to time feels like home of sorts.

Another vote for DINMS and MPK. Oh, and Evil E is a douche of the highest order. What an arrogant cocksmoker. Can't ski for shit either.

Def DINMS. 2nd place to the mild one and basom exchanges. Keoni gets honorable mention, he was funny.

ACE was understandable. Restaurants are a life-sucker.

    changes...

Well I have been reading this board off and on for a long while. Usually I would drift off for a few months, and then remember about it again and be back on. Basically I started skiing the same time I started surfing powdermag way back in the day. I think my first post was a question looking for info comparing the 1080 to the Public Enemy .

Its weird for me now to hear ski reps, pro athletes, and industry types constantly refer to the "TGR Forums" as a resource to check out their product, or as a market we need to capture. Not only is this place growing, the whole industry is keeping tabs on what gets posted here. Now I wonder if some people who post their TRs really just want to share, or is their some TGR fame that they are after? Its just weird to think about, and although I still do surf through here once in a while I definitely don't participate as much. Now its like if you make a post clowning on your co-worker, there is a good chance that they surf the forum too, and might not get the joke. This place isn't the small little corner of the interweb that it used to be.

Well I guess why do I keep coming back? Well I am really not sure. One is that by reading the board I can get the feeling that I am not the only crazy person who still bases important life decisions on how they will affect their ski time. I have always gone it alone, I have never skied with anyone in my family, and I am positive that I am the only person in both sides of my extended family who skis or boards more than one day a year. I don't have the memories a lot of people have, like learning to ski with their parents, or going on family trips. I always had many friends who rode, but rarely would ever think of skipping some bullshit class to come rip some untracked fresh with me. And reading this board I know that I am not the only one out there, and that most of the people back home caught up with their hdtvs, new cars, mortgages etc, who think I am crazy actually are the crazy ones in my mind. I really haven't met all that many people who post here, but mainly that was because I was stuck in the UP, way too poor to make it to any summit or anything like that. But if anyone is ripping Brighton or Powder Mtn this year, I'd be glad to share a few runs with ya.

He just turned 18 a month or so ago. He moved out of his parents home and is living with some friends I guess. I see them all now and then and will hopefully ski with them some this season. I suspect he may lurk now and then.

Basom and Bill bouncing off each other was fkna. I used to love the meanness of RacerX and the idiocy of Jeff Spicoli. Armchair was a class act and we don't see enough of telepath around here either.

Good to see some new guys though. Max Gosey has been a revelation.
