Zuma access liftBeaters can't walk 40 yards? Geezus.
Interested to see how often they actually open the gullies.
Seriously, that's lame.
It will be interesting to see about the gullies. I'm assuming as much as the East Wall is open?
I don't see a stop on the Loveland - Breckenridge interconnect gondola?
So, is this ever going to happen, whatever it is?
A couple years? They started planning it, what, five years ago?

Kinda bummed about the Pali replacement. Love the old school lift.
I'd be a little more bummed about the Norway lift going away. Takes a lot of pressure of the Lanawee on busy days. Hello, lines out of the corral.
Good to see they got the picnic table locations sorted out as well.

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.</p>
I was hoping for a faster Lenawee.
I'm sure they are counting on the Beavers lift to take pressure of Lenawee.

This is a good thing. It will be fun to ski that stuff with avy mitigation. Too many people have died in the beavers/steep gullies over the years....the access is too easy and many do not appreciate the danger of those areas.
FWIW, I can only find two accidents where someone was killed in an avalanche in the Beavers or Steep Gullies, dating back to the 96/97 season.

I will agree that is "too many" but it's not like people are dying in mass over there.
From Denver Post:
Expansion for the sake of mitigation, if that was their intention, not sure how I feel about that. Maybe Vail & Steamboat can make the FS bite on East Vail & Fish CreekThe 2012 master plan at Arapahoe Basin asked to grow inside its special-use boundary, which zones both the Beavers and Steep Gullies for lift-served skiing. The ski area wants to mitigate avalanche danger in the region, where six skiers have died in avalanches since 1982.![]()
^^^ good to know, the other accidents must be between 1982 and 96/97. CAIC only has accident reports going back to 96/97 published online.
