    Some magical ass soil…

… in some magical ass woods. Pretty awesome to call this place home (when it’s not on fire).

SW BC tends to have dry spells in July August sometimes going deep into September.

Last year for eg was unusual. We had something like 2 months with just 8mm of rain in Whistler. Soil and forest were tinder dry and we were all terrified of fires as fost management around here isn't the best. Made for nice autumn colours thoughClick image for larger version.

Go forth and ride, then bring back pics

Started hiking this trail in ‘22 cause I was burned out on MTB. Bike itch came back last year but I was still motivated to do the same trail so I started bringing the bike, riding the first half and HAB the second steep AF half. Nice bang for the buck, great view, and a killer DH. Here’s a years worth of it. (For some reason I have to force 1080p in the YT settings otherwise it looks like blurry shit)

Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

It’s hot gravel summer for me I guess. Photo from an overnighter mostly following the SF Peninsula Traverse route (https://bikepacking.com/routes/sf-peninsula-traverse/). And now off to Idaho to do a big chunk of the Idaho Hot Springs route… although it’s looking like fires might derail us somewhat.

Finally got an alpine ride in. Big descent in telluride in the rain this morning. Last pic taken as I’m collecting my thoughts where I landed.

The scenery looks awesome. The riding not so much.

Wasatch/Bear? Which route did you take to get there? Love that area but not sure I'd want to drop Wasatch in the rain!
