Those are fabulous. Soaking up the green as the snow starts to fly up high.

Shasta Ten Gallon trails are fun. Best is the newest one- Strawberry Valley. Then a pleasant pedal along the McCloud River since our legs were toast. Headed to Spence Mountain next.

Spence Mountain outside Klamath Falls had a lot of thought (and $, i imagine...) put into it. Well-built trails and directional downhills and good signage make for fun loops. We did a second downhill on Nighthawk and definitely found super chunk that we both chose to walk down. Bonus is the lakeside free camping.

    Awesome!

Are the bald eagles active over the lake right now?

    Amazing photo HMS!

The main XC circumnavigation loop of Waldo is impassable on the south, west, and North sides (between Shadow Bay and North Waldo) from the Cedar Creek fire.

However many other trails with views of Waldo are clear: Fuji and Mt Ray (have never done it but well regarded) which is loopable, the Twins and East Waldo which is also loopable and much less steep than Fuji/Ray, and Maiden Peak which is an OAB.

Another cool ride near Bend is to loop Metolius Windigo / Trail 99 from Whychus Portal outside of Sisters, about 10 miles up FS roads to Three Creek Lake and then a super scenic low angle ridge ride with views of the Three Sisters the entire way down.

I feel like this thread needs proof that evdog rides the bike that he poses in all the cool places. I'm guessing he's going to need a whole thread for the TR, but here's a few (hopefully the server door is open now)

Also feels like I could use that lesson Saul Goodman was gonna give on the rule of thirds, whatever that is.

Yep, we did 4 days west of Harrisburg. The trails are as good as anywhere, and we didn't see anyone else the entire time. I think people don't like real, raw, natural trails anymore.

I need to do an east coast trip one of these times. Lots of rad looking trails. Hard to pry away from the west though!
