My riding crew all took our kids to our favorite spot. Definitely step up in terrain from what they’re all used to. 7m/1000’ of fun rocks and foley singletrack

A friend of mine who passed too early and we had his memorial ride. One of our gang showed up on Severed Dick with this classic 1996 Rocky Mountain Hammer with working Mag 21, LX cantis and GripshiftClick image for larger version.

Your first mtb is a gateway drug... next comes dh bike, dj, moto enduro, mototrials, ebike, additional garage bay, etc... this is where the real cost lies

You can get away from them for years, but they will always claw you back in.

I've been out visiting my 99yo grandmother who is not long for the world. I borrowed a road bike from my uncle and tuned it up and got three rides in. Really nice road biking here. nw Pennsylvania.

Nice, I still have my 1992 Rocky Mtn Stratos. It's had a few iterations but currently back to rigid fork with Hayes mag disc up front and XT v-brake rear. I think 9 sp drive train. I re-laced the original and perfectly true Wolber AT-18 front rim to the back after the rear finally imploded partway down a 5k descent during the bike's brief stint as a bikepacking rig. It's been a commuter and bar crawl bike for the last 20 yrs aside from a handful of bikepacking trips.

It's definitely a different mindset riding such a bike. Got one that vintage for a commuter.

Tried out some new rock slabs today

When I came back to biking (time off due to injury) in 2015, I rode my rigid Giant 26er on everything we have around here

Is his handlebar mounted upside down?

(Also, I'm fairly envious of your slabby loamy goodness right now)
