Just rode a trail nearby and some of them on a steeper trail got ramped up with dirt on the down and a log at the bottom so can be ridden as a drop/jump or roll-down or a ramped step-up. Definitely keeps the flow, but like Ride-it said has to fit the character of the trail.
Been slacking lately.

formerly an ambassador for a few others, but the ski industry is... interesting.
Fukt: a very small amount of snow.
Love the kid, especially daughter, stoke!
Have to drive my son down to new school ~40 min away, so have a new local trail system to get wired.

Ahh, I c. The Rocky Mountain riding being mostly of the big and wide open variety a fallen tree doesn't always fit in very well. I also dig the EC riding style. It's very busy and makes good use of smaller areas. You don't have to get in the same sort of mileage to get a good ride in. I'm starting next month on a similar system I designed in Kingman. It's all hand built Mojave desert terrain that is slowish riding and what I'm calling semi-awkward tech flow. It's completely different than the stuff I've been doing since May at East Zion. The Kingman system is called the White Cliffs trail system and will have some really incredible slick rock stuff with plenty of very steep rock rollers, airy ledge traverses and fun balance testing moves through massive rocks and boulders. It's only going to be around 7.5 miles total but it's set up to sort of session short, bidirectional loops giving people options for very short rides or much longer ones with a bit of creative thinking and repeats. There is one short, technical directional trail in the system that has a wicked steep slab on it to sharp, fish hook corner at the bottom that I think will get the local riding community fired up there.
Here's a few pics of some trail we did there a couple years ago. There's a lower loop and an upper loop mostly in lower terrain in this small canyon that will give access to the stuff up higher. Once up on the mesa it's probably 75% slick rock riding.

Yeah, Idk. I hate blowdowns. I think they're just annoying and don't contribute to the trail at all unless you spin it and make it a skinny. We have plenty of tech riding and I don't consider a blow down tech at all. Sure you can improve your bunny hops, but meh, not for me on a trail.
Man, that is beautiful desert trail!

Thanks hick! I did the design work for that stuff and everything that's about to come down the pipeline starting next month so I really appreciate that.
Phase Two of the White Cliffs system should be done in December I think. After that we are doing a connection to the historic old town Kingman from the trails. If anyone on here happens to be going down that way make sure to stop by and get a ride in.

Dirt jumps before dinner
This morning dawn patrol which started nearly in the dark.
Looks like a “landual” but was definitely not on purpose, rolled out of this one and round 2 much less dramatic. Tricky run in as there’s a corner w some rocks in the line right before the run-in.
Fall summer switch flipped pretty hard yesterday from low 80s to mid 50s this morning!

Beautiful day for a newlyweds’ ride. Veil included.
Missed the berm and launched this dropper. This is looking up towards the trail from crash site. Also crash site pic with bike. Getting back up the hill with the bike and injuries was interesting. Dislocated middle finger and pulled it back in place to ride back to the lift. But pads and full face FTW

I need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Heal up! I also dislocated a finger in an over the bars crash on Friday. A finger I first dislocated in 1998! so swelling and bruising lighter than yours appears. I was also able to set it back in place at crash site whereas my initial late-90s dislocation involved a hospital visit. I am old and entire right side body sore from the crash. Finger not bending fully but not painful unless I try to make a fist. You may want to get an X-ray if not feeling better in ~ 5 days.

glad to be riding in auburn again following the mosquito fire closure. the air is still a little hazy and the water in the middle fork of the american is a sickly opaque greenish brown due to the dirt and ash washed into it from the recent rain.
bonus winter related content: here is a refugee from the higher elevation evacuation zone; rumor has it that this banger loves to screw and gives fantastic blow jobs. can confirm.
