Bought ski jacket at LSS last spring. A zipper tooth failed or fell out near the bottom, rendering the thing un-zippable. Looks like a pretty big job to rip that sucker out and replace. Anyone had this done?

go to fabric store, get zipper repair kit. not too hard to do, instructions in kit.
ya know, beer is far more than just the world's most perfect breakfast food.
Here's a place that specializes in outdoor gear fixes that replaced the zipper in my wife's ski jacket and it came out as good as new.

Good runs when you get them.
no offense to Rainy Pass Repair, but I had a busted zipper on a pair of bibs...took it to their shop, they said the entire zipper needed replacement and it would cost $100.
I ended up taking the bibs to Northwest Garment & Gear Repair in Fremont, they managed to fix the zipper rather than replace it and charged me about $10.
Rainy Pass does good work...they've restitched shoulder straps and such on some of my beat-to-hell backpacks, but there are less expensive (and possibly more creative) shops out there.
I've sent stuff here with good results.
