Alright. I’m trying to avoid being that guy/that magazine that just sprays a bunch of thinly veiled advertising onto a forum and then ignores the forum from that point forward. However, since I do have quite a bit to do, what with producing content and all, I am sort of going to do that...but I hope that y’all can forgive me for that.
The Alpinist magazine, since its inception, has strived to be a source of high quality writing, photography, and design for everyone in the climbing community. From the scary world class alpinist to the arm chair mountaineer to the everyday cragger or boulderer, we here at Alpinist would like to invite you to take a look at our new (again) website, www.alpinist.com.
Our NewsWire posts have breaking climbing news, right from the source: http://www.alpinist.com/doc/web07f/n...rakusa-k7-west. We also are posting fresh gear reviews on our revamped Mountain Standards blog every few days—a great resource to climbers and other users. (http://www.alpinist.com/doc/web07x/m...-ten-camp-four) You’ll also find a number of web exclusive weekly features, downloadable high-res wallpapers, and user created and edited Reader’s Blogs. And, of course, streaming videos of climbing, ridiculous skiing (like this one: http://www.alpinist.com/doc/web07x/video_eiger_skiing ), and other mountain sports.
And don’t forget that the fourth annual Alpinist Film Festival is coming in a few months.
Thanks. Again, please forgive me for what could fairly be interpreted as spray. I really do hope that you can view the new Alpinist.com as a viable source of information for your mountain fix, as well as a voice in the broader community of climbers.
