Is there a way to find out of OTA HD is available in my area?

I'm thinking about picking up a cheap USB HD TV tuner. I don't watch much TV but occasionally I like to catch some sports games. I work Sunday and Monday nights so I'm trying to figure out a way to watch football games. I'm pretty sure there's broadcast HD TV in the city that I work in but is there a way to find out for sure (aside from buying a tuner and seeing what stations I pick up)?

I'm looking at something like this:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815100018

does anyone use anything like this to watch TV on a laptop?

    Check out Antenna Web.

Just plug in your address and some basic info and it will tell you what stations you'll be able to receive in your area based on the type of antenna you use.
I think that the human mind is unique among all other forms of life in that it can spontaneously create unique thoughts and provide unique behaviors. Instead of rewarding that uniqueness we, for some reason probably because of cultural and social necessity, we chastise unique behavior and reward conformity.

If I end up buying something it looks like I better get a hybrid that does both digital and analog.

I'm now looking at the Hauppauge HVR-950

Hey, a friend of mine set up some sort of tuner to his home tv and then set up a server to which he could connect to and watch / record any tv show that got played on the TV he set up the tuner on from wherever he was. (The tuner/ server was in texas, while we watched it in montreal) I could ask him the specifics if you want, it could work as a cheap version of a DVR, and you could watch it anywhere you want, and I assume with the right cables even on a tv. Let me know.

Brice, I'd be interested in hearing about what your buddy is using. I just setup Orb (www.orb.com) to do what sounds like your buddy is doing. I haven't played with it much but it seems to do what it claims. I'm going to install it on my DVR tomorrow and then I should be able to watch the streaming shows from any computer with an internet connection.

I also picked up the Hauppauge PVR-950 today. If I sit by the window in the office I can pick up about 10 analog stations and another 10 HD stations. The HD comes in crystal clear but the playback is a little jumpy at times.
