Holy crap, that's the new midway restaurant? I worked there two springs in the, ahem, mid-80's, when the whole thing was outdoors, two long tables with tubs of pop and beer [not even bottled water yet Spritey], chips and candy, and a few bbq grills pumpin out the burgers and brats. It was such a blast working there! Nice eye candy, and, although only 3.2% beer was sold up there, 6 or 8 of 'em was a nice buzz skiing down after work. Ah, the [fkna awesome] old days...
Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

More people skiing in the steep gullies is a good thing and it would be nice not to duck a rope to get there.
You speak the truth, but it kinda makes you feel like you are getting away with something every time you don't get caught. Of course that's just cause ski patrol turns a blind eye to it and only enforces it when they feel like it.

As for the beaves and rockpile, I think it's only a matter of time before they put in a lift for that too so enjoy it while you can. There are a tons of hidden runs back there that never get any traffic.

Yeah, but you gotta admit, making a covered, sheltered space was a good idea at 10,000 plus at the bottom of a bowl. More days of use, and still a big deck in an awesome spot to do a burger and beer. And it doesn't look like one of those things at Vail.

Sooo....anybody know when this lift is sceduled to run?

The A-Basin website says December. The new stuff isn't really gonna be that great. But, it will spread out the skiers on the mountain more and there will be a few more cornices to huck.

I thought part of the overall plan was to replace the exhibition chair with a high-speed.

My thoughts exactly. The place is small when the East wall is closed.

This is exactly what happened in Breck with Imperial. People flocked to the new lift served stuff in mass and left the older terrain much less crowded.

True. At least for the first year, then the novelty wore off and it's back to the same ol-same ol.
