I am proud of these pedestrian gates. I only have a pic of one of the three, but everything was hand bent and placed as I built it. No drawings, just an idea.

That is fucking sick. Where do you live? We could violate rich people together.
We are closing on a house next week, I need ten feet of very modern handrail. I wish I could weld.

Tell me you don't really have Bud Light on tap.
^ That should be in the "man cave" thread!
PS- Just guessing that it's Budweiser on tap...?
Screw the net, Surf the backcountry!
wow!
Thanks for the great words!
Rootskier, I am in the great northwest, but really can ship anywhere.
I build artisticly inspired automated gates and fencing. I love it when I get to be creative with a job.
I built this last July. I still need to cut plugs for the holes in the posts.

Dough, you rock.
Root rocks.
Big D rocks.
I can't remember everybody.
Kayak builder dude rocks.
So many impressive accomplishments.
Here are this and thats from my household:
First my wife used to make quilts of her own design. Here is one:
Cabinetry is expensive! My wife saw a kitchen in a magazine and we approximated the shelves.
My wife tiled the wall above the stove.
My younger daughter crafts with furious intensity. This is one of the multitude of her creations.
Landscaping: brutal, back breaking labor that really is worth it!
Starting out...
Almost done.
A friend gave me an old ski lift chair from Mount Baker that was made into a bench. Wife and I stripped the rust, removed the nasty old seat and back covers, and made it a shop bench.

Seriously, this can’t turn into yet another ON3P thread....
Nice shit Gordyman. Tell me about how you anchored the intermediate shelf, here. It looks like you just used 3/4 galvanized pipe, right? I have curtain rods that are similar...but with black pipe.
I didn't really build the parts for it, but I rebuilt the engine on my 94 4runner. There was great satisfaction when it started without hesitation on the first try when it was in the car again. A few select pictures from the process:

You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.
What the hell...
Not quite up to the beauty of iggyskier's work, but I like 'em for my 2nd try:

Inspired by this blog, http://moderninmn.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
, I decided to replace this hideous railing in the new pad.
Here is my temporary "shop". At least it was a nice day. All posts and the top rail were fabricated from some recycled fir 4x4 (resawn to 3x4 for posts and full dimension 2x4 for top rail).
Installing the first cable:

Total cost: $86
Nice work. That cable railing looks rad.
Looks great... though the real estate agent in me says that the 6" or so spacing could come back to get you at re-sale. Next time do 4" (like the example at linked blog) and you'll not have the risk of redoing it. But who cares what I think!!!
If some of the best times of my life were skiing the UP in -40 wind chill with nothing but jeans, cotton long johns and a wine flask to keep warm while sleeping in the back of my dad's van... does that make me old school?
