Yes. Any of these websites will require that, I believe (FEC law). But you can just make something up, possibly involving Rontele and NAMBLA.

I owed Tye1on some dollars from the last bet, so he elected to have me make a donation to his candidate. I also made my own donation. See if you can guess who's donation went where. Although the screen shot didn't memorialize the amounts, each Presidential Hopeful received their 5 duckets.

Nice job, fellas! Both admirable candidates in their own right.

Gambling and politics make excellent bedfellows, I'd say.

Must be an "established" maggot. Previous challengers in this thread will receive special deference.

    Wager:

Challenger phones the most expensive (subjective I know, requiring some knowledge and a great deal of honesty) restaurant in their nearest metropolitan area (must have a population of not less than 438,646*) to request reservations and ask what the corkage fee is for a 5L Box of Franzia Mountain Chablis.

5 bones say they state you are not welcome to bring in boxed wine.

Any actual and serious price quote from the restaurant wins the bet for the challenger.

*Using Omaha as an absolute floor here.

edit: heading home and will check back in later for potential challengers.

Obviously not "established " as yet, and not taking up this one, but would just like to confirm that future wagers will be open to those of us in Canuckistan? ( exchange rate permitting of course)

Caveat 1: ...assuming they allow outside alcohol on their premises and thus HAVE a corkage fee. The "most expensive" restaurants in my metropolitan area do not.

Caveat 2: Does it have to be Franzia or can one ask if any Boxed wine is covered by their corkage fee?

Hmmm, I think I'm down. Anyone know if L'Espalier has corkage?

    Yes to #1

No to #2. Only because it gives me a slightly better shot I think. The word "Franzia" elicits, to me, worse connotations.

Note: I have never tried this, so I have little frame of reference.

Sure, I don't discriminate. Plus, you have more frenchmen up there which would increase, in this case, my odds of my challenger receiving a less than cordial response,

Seacoast NH, but Boston is the nearest metro area that fits the description.

I don't suppose 3 750ml boxes would suffice? Seems to be the only way to get in the door at Canlis.

Q: What is your corkage policy?
A: We ask that the bottle not be on our list (feel free to call and have us look it up) and that you bring no more than three 750ml bottles. The charge is $35 per 750ml bottle.

That would work for me, as would Canlis. DrFlask, you have been cleared for take-off if you want to engage. Just need your honest report back.

Ok, hear me out on this. I think the Orioles beat the Yankees tomorrow, creating a run on Tampax thus boosting Proctor and Gamble's stock price. I win if the stock closes at 80 or more.

So, to win do you need an O's win AND PandG closing at or above $80.00? Or just the stock bump?

Just the stock bump. The rest was just to demonstrate my unassailable reasoning.
