I'll bet the first taker 5 bucks that the temperature never reaches above 81 degrees fahrenheit in Rangoon on Friday.

Rangoon mean maximum air temperature for both July and August is 29.4C = 85F.

    This could be a nail-biter.

Is it too early for the popcorn?

Also, since Rangoon (Yangon) is the capitol of Myanmar, which we all know is run by an evil Military Junta, can we really trust the veracity of their thermometers?

Internet wagering is illegal in the U.S., isn't it?
I wager nobody cares; and that nobody collects, either.

I don't welch, especially when it has to do with Burmese weather predictions.

The mean tempertaure data is a bit disconcerting. Never bet against Global warming, huh David?

Looks like Friday will have some of the most precip for the week. These dudes think that we may top out at around 82-83 degrees Friday: http://www.weather-forecast.com/loca...recasts/latest

but this looks even worse for me: http://weather.wn.com/temp.asp?cityid=1623&stateid=83

Elaine: Mr. Peterman, you can't leave.

    J. Peterman: I've already left, Elaine. I'm in Burma.

    Elaine: Burma?

    J. Peterman: You most likely know it as Myanmar, but it will always be Burma to me. Bonne chance, Elaine. You there on the motorbike! Sell me one of your melons!

I think that a temperature recorder needs to be picked to eliminate any dispute between readings from multiple thermometers.

I thought of that too, but I have no dispute with those figures. It was nearing 80 Friday morning there so I was pretty sure that anyway you slice it, 81 was gonna topple.

And for the next random wager, who wants to wager that Hillary Clinton wears a pantsuit to her next televised speeching engagement? I say Yes. Obviously I need to win my money back.
