Dynastar Exclusive 9 vs Fischer Vision 40

    Hello,

I am looking at getting skis for my SO, and have narrowed my choices down to these two skis. I am looking for opinions from people who have skied those. On paper, I like the Fischer's wood core and rail bindings system; the Dynastar women-specific features like heel lift, aft waist and increased ramp angles (though from what I can tell the bindings aren't on rails). I am a bit leery about the "multicell" core on the Dynastar but because I am a wood core snob doesn't mean I have to make her be one too.

My SO's an intermediate skier. She will get down anything but definitely has all the marks of the intermediate as far as weight positioning and balance, and my goal is for her to have the most fun and improvement as she can, coupled with some lessons. Based on this, I am thinking the Dynastar may be the best package, but I would love to hear from people who have skied either of these skis if possible.

    Thanks!
    drC

My wife skiied the old Exclusives. She really liked them except for the chatter on frozen snow - think cool spring morning.

Otherwise it was a smooth mud fat ski. Great in softer snow, off piste. Okay in the crud, but it would bust through as long as it was not too heavy. Just was not biting into any ice. Great west coast ski I think.

She is on the Burnin' Luv from a few years back - which was a bit stiffer than current models - and loves it. Great all around ski. Need to be a strong skiier in deep snow.

Not sure how the Fischer fits in. The Nordica's mid fats this past season were a hit with a few. I think they have a similar binding system.

Not much info, but it may help.

I'm pretty sure the Dynastar core is the same as the Rossi microcell core. They're sharing for technology lately (same company, I know).
I think the Legend Pro core and the Scratch WRC are the same thing
    No longer stuck.

my girl has exclusives legends (intermediate skier) and thinks they're great. One thing though, the lange boots with look bindings and dynaster skis were too much forwardlean/ramp angle. It gave her terrible calf cramps. Switched to Sollie 912's and she's much better off.

I've been hearing more in the circle of women about the Vision. I'm not sure about the 40, but the 73/Breeze is an awesome women's ski
Sometimes you have to let your bad self ski...

The RealSkiers folks loved the Vision 50 but thought the Vision 40 was mediocre.

My wife loves her Exclusive Legends, but hasn't tried the 9.

If you're interested in the Fischer AMC 70 in a 158, I've got a pair in Gear Swap for $200.
