Why I can't watch ESPN anymore

    Stuart Scott
    Poker
    Steve Phillips
    "Who's now" for christ's sake!
    Poker
    Their love of Barry Bonds

    "WOOT WOOT"
    "BOOYA"

and other sudden childish outbursts, usually related to a home run replay

    Poker
    X Games, summer or winter

and most NBA people, like that bitter loud black guy, whathisname, who is always trying to pick a fight with anybody or anything. Help me here. But I don't pay attention to that sport anyway.

All things that annoy the hell out of me as well. The who's now thing is so stupid. Kobe Bryant is more "Now" than Ronaldinho...bullshit.

Add Chris Berman to your list.

When I see "Who's Now?" it makes me want to throw a brick at my tv. The panel they put together to debate that shit is infuriating. You've got Keyshawn Johnson (football guy), Kirk Herbstreit (another football dude), and Mike Wilbon (who I like but is also a football guy) along with Stuart Scott who has no decernable opinion on anything and the laziest eye I've ever seen to boot. I could go on for hours, but I'll leave it at that.

Scott van Pelt is great, though, espacially when calling the golf broadcasts.

However, I still watch ESPN because they have absolutely no competition. Seriously weak. 'PTI' is still good and 'Around the Horn' can be amusing, but everything else is seriously slipping... especially 'Sportcenter'

    Their hockey coverage is embarassing.

I hate ESPN with a passion. Not counting actual sports broadcasts, half the shit on there is completely made up. How else are you going to fill 24/7 of sports programming?

They could start by broadcasting/analyzing sports that are actually happening, rather than speculating about those that are in the offseason.

I don't want to hear a shred of NFL news for at least three months after the Super Bowl.

100X on Stuart, he has gotten so full of himself over the years, I cannot listen to him any more, I like ESPN but if he is on, I WILL turn the channel. Not only are thye 24/7 sports, they are 24/7 xthe amount of channels they have to fill. Even ESPN8 "The Ocho". Enough Poker too. I do like Mike and Mike, although I cannot see them being good enough for MNF. Loosing Dan Patrick will be a hit to them too. The Sports Reporters on Sunday will still be watched, but it seems Lupica and Albom are there just to mention that they have a book coming out.

Colin Cowherd! Love that guy. Even though he bangs on my Alabama team constantly, he is a good radio dude, wouldn't be surprised to see more of him on TV.

yup, though you forgot to mention that horrid hot dog gulping crap.
if they gave equal time to a vomitorium bulimiathon event, it might be a little obvious how much they and their disney parent company are promoting eating disorder as a sport.
at least show us what all these skinny dudes DO with those 60 hot dogs after the comp is over...maybe the diarhhea cam, a puke bucket cam and some realtime stats on what's going on in their bodies...

yea, watching poker is nearly as bad

I guess I am in the minority. I actually enjoy watching the WSOP on espn. The hot dog eating is only one hour out of the entire year not a big deal.

Good ESPN: Around the Horn and PTI

    Bad ESPN:
Stephen A Smith. I listen to ESPN Radio in New York and the guy has his own two hour show. Like a car accident I find it difficult to turn away. I would suggest any red sox give it a shot for one full day the line up of Yankee homers is enough to make you puke.

The who is more NOW is just stupid.

Despite some of the programming weaknesses they still play sportcenter and baseball tonight repeats for 25% of the day anyway.

Why does Stephen A. Smith find it necessary to constantly yell? Listening to him makes me want to kick myself in the junk.

I dont really mind anything on ESPN. Except Joe Morgan. StevenASmith sucks, but he makes me feel better about myself. Poker- if its on Ill watch or change the channel, Im so used to Stu Scott now that I dont even care. And Id rather watch Baseball Tonight on repeat at 2am than Mexican League tennis

That's his name. Steven A. Smith. What an ass. Has he ever been assaulted by a fan or player?

I worked with a guy that reminded me so much od Steven A. Smith. His name was Lawrence (visually, they were tiwns and the way that talked was identical), if you called him "Larry", he got real nasty. I bet if you called Steven A., "Steve" or Stevie", he would get in your face.

Yeah, I didn't like the guy much either, at first, but he's tolerable for me now: I think I've just gotten used to his schtick.

Back to Stuart Scott, though. He has always been painful for me to watch: pathetic attempts to be hip, banal "humor," and bug eyes. Rich Eisen wasn't much better. Those two together on Sportscenter had me in full-time cringe mode.

I want Kenny Mayne back. He seems only to do the oddball stuff now. I miss Kenny. I hope they haven't killed him.

thankfully no S.A.S. radio show here.
i would not WANT to get used to his schtick!

will miss dan patrick, esp the big show hour w/olbermann
cowherd's ok, but some of his rants are just too dumbed down to be tolerable.

yea, i still like baseball tonite, in spite of kruk

Personally, I love watching poker. It beats having Sportscenter ran 15 consecutive times because nothing is happening except crappy baseball.

Stuart Scott = male version of Ohpra.

Kenny Mane = white version of Stuart Scott.

Van Pelt guy = Dan Patrick wannabe.

Chris Berman = fatter and more annoying version of Rosie O'Donnell.

BTW - Bob Levy and Mike Tirico are the only ways that ever brought anything to the table. Outside the lines might be the best program ESPN ever created.
