6 Months ago, 6 more to go

Remember 6 months ago? When things were finally (for some of us) gettin good.

We're over the hump and headed back!

Here's to last year's good times and to the many more coming next year.

Here's what I was doin after a week of brutal fridgid January temps - That's some 120° to 140°f cooler than what we've got now.

What were you gettin after last mid-winter?

    Long live Ullr! Hoo-rah!

This message brought to you by the fine folks at TGR Ski & Snowboard central.

    It's 95+ in Seattle.
    Ugh. This is unnatural.

I'm going skiing Saturday and planning another slice through CO next year....as well as rooting around ye damp auld stomping grounds here starting shortly after Halloween.

You are correct sir! But thirds of the twelve are to bizarre in the opposites equation.

Anyway, I stumbled apon it and it looked good and fit my opposite way of thinking today.

January is a good time. Remember thinking you may be noticing that the days might possibly be geting longer?

Three months after this time last year I was getting in my first turns of the season.

As our weird backwards luck would have it, they were some of the best turns all year. At least till february.

Heres to ocotber this year being like last year, but november not sucking ass.

So we're pretty much in the fat part of the 5 pow-infrequent months.

Just another 1.5months of nothing to do but drink beer and bbq.

May seems like forever ago. Had a great wind powder day at Squaw in may. Fantastic off of Granite Chair. Gooe enough for cliff hucks.

I'm expecting an October start for the Sierra alla three seasons ago. Had 2 powder days (with a more bomber base that we had all season this past year) by Halloween - with the Wall open. Good times. Bring it on.

Missing the cold snow. All my friends want to think about is enjoying hot weather. Bring on the cold.

YES!! 3 seasons ago was my first time to Tahoe, and it was sick. It's hot and humid in Philly, so everyday I walk from the train to my hospital I want winter.

Years ago, the radio diskjockie guys on the KOA ridehome program would call up Otto the general manager of Loveland, and ask him how many days till skiing starts. They would usually do this on the hottest day of the summer. I loved to hear them talk about how many days away it was....

    So, the countdown begins.....
