I think it’s great, but TWIS* didn’t think it was thick enough and doesn’t backpack so I got a big-ass Exped for car-camping.

I really liked my REI Camp Dreamer for car camping

got rid of it when I got rid of my truck

That exped is sweet (but obviously not very portable). I actually want to find some sort of folding cot/frame platform for it so that guests can use it as a spare bed instead of an air mattress.

But I need the opposite--I'm not really happy with our portable sleep solution...mostly because they are LOUD AF if anyone moves on them at all. Something about the combo of tent fabric and bottom the air mattress fabric just makes a ton of noise.

Needs to be insulated so I've been thinking that klymit double pad might work well--how did it handle transferring movement between the two parties? Any awkwardness if there's a big weight difference?

Instead of trying to find an optimal insulated + quiet pad/tent combo I focused on the R factor and use ear plugs. Makes life sooooo much better at camp (especially if the hard stuff comes along for some of the snorers).

We go to the Canadian border of MN and the insulation is more of a critical factor for our October trips.

I didn’t notice any bounciness or anything like that - I was fine with it and actually thought it was pretty awesome. There isn’t a huge weight difference between us tho - like 30-40 lbs I was told it was a little thin for Princess TWIS.

My wife has the single version of that Klymit and I have the basic Static V. They are much more quiet than the S2S, BA, or TAR. If it doesn't work out for your mikey, give me a shout.

    Tire cable chains, fit 225/65R17

Long shot. Never-used tire chains for close clearance. I had them for 225/65R17 tires on a Tiguan, forgot to throw them in when I offloaded it.

Either pay for shipping, or donate equal amount to your local no-kill animal shelter. And if you happen to have a 2019 Tiguan or something with the same engine, I’ll throw in that K&N air filter.

Two size S EB fleece jackets, free to a home. Both fit almost like a medium in other brands, measurements are 20" pit to pit and 26" shoulder to waist hem. Good condition but not perfect, just a little small for me. Prefer to send both to the same address.

Yellow/gray FA fleece full zip, no hood:

Blue hooded full zip, little warmer than the yellow:
