Futures better regain 3000 today. (Stoxx 600 is down 3.4%). The one year daily chart of the stock futures is negative. The contract broke down at 3100 and rallies tested 3100 twice then failed leaving a sharp double top. There is still good support from 2790-2850~. Last Friday's low was 2853 and that needs to hold today. A close below 2853 is grim and likely another 100 points lower.

10Y bond trading .75%; 30Y at 1.36%. Low rates could save stocks from the technical conundrum it's in.

I can’t see how we don’t at least slip back into that late 2018 trading range.

So reassuring to watch Latty Kudlow tell me that jobs are up, wash your hands, this too will pass, and soon we'll all be lighting our cigars with ten dollar bills!

^ Started looking at VZ yesterday. Still interested in GOOG if it drops. Lots of browsing and YouTube videos watched with people at home.

"With VIX Hitting 50, The Fed Must Now Step In Or A Catastrophic Crash Is Inevitable"

the economic doom material is great.

markets not down 20% and the fed needs to print to infinity now all it's economic implosion. world economies are still getting worse, fed banks will just get smacked down until there's some positive signs; emergency rate cut did not last two days before the selling resumed.

An open letter to the guy on the chair, who was pontificating about what the effect of coronavirus and the Democratic nominee on the stock market will be:

Nobody wants to hear that shit dude. Especially not some poor sucker captive audience. On a fucking bottomless powder day to boot! Or maybe they were your friends? Either way, it's a miracle they didn't push you off.

Signed, the guys who were mocking you from the next chair.

Now that the Saudis have floated Saudi Aramco is the OPEC discourse with Russia intentional to drive US shale drillers to bankruptcy? Lots of debt is coming due and it might be hard for some of them to refi. The shale stocks just got annihilated today.

Shale could be fucked, Russia isn’t changing course until the regular June opec meeting. And even then they may not agree to anything. I don’t think it’s intentional at all w/r/t domestic shale operators but Russia just isn’t going to blink before Saudi does or before they had agreed on.

Keep your flight to safety, folks. This is dangerous.

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump tried to calm nerves amid the global outbreak of coronavirus while touring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta on Friday, but the visit took a political turn after he slammed Washington state's Democratic governor who is grappling with the rapidly growing epidemic.

Trump said he warned Vice President Mike Pence not to trust Gov. Jay Inslee during his Thursday visit to Washington state, which has been among the hardest hit areas across the U.S. with 10 deaths reported so far.

"I told Mike not to be complimentary of that governor because that governor is a snake," he told reporters while donning a "Keep America Great" hat at the CDC in Atlanta. "We have a lot of problems with the governor."

Trump's visit to the federal agency battling the growing coronavirus epidemic comes after CDC officials faced backlash for developing and mailing flawed testing kits. The agency said it fixed the glitch.

The fucking hat. I mean, cmon. We are screwed on this one. He's decided to fight a blue state governor who hosts the most cases,, in public. Insult him. Fortunately most of us won't die, but, the world economy is fucked.
