    i had the same thing happen when i was a head lifeguard. some kid who was always a nuissance was wrestling and and just being unsafe in the water, so after numerous warnings i just got fed up and kicked him out of the pool and took his pass (i think i told him for a week, but it could have been the season...cant remember). it was a community pool for a gated community, so not quite a public pool.

    anyway, 10 minutes later the kid runs over with his dad (who is a big brutus of a fella...contractor worker type) and the dad proceeds to scream at me telling me that how dare i take the pass away blah blah, hes raising his son to know how to defend himself... i tell him thats great, he can do all that, just outside and not in the water. then they go to my manager at the lodge and my manager drives over and wants to have a conversation with me. basically tells me he agrees with me but perhaps taking the pass for a week was too harsh of a punishment (no fucking backbone on that guy). after some arguing on my part, he basically told me to give the pass back to the kid. and im thinking to myself, im here to protect this bastards life (the kid), and his father is giving me shit for doing my job? such bullshit.

    it sucks being put into that position, when youre doing what is right and what youre supposed to do and you get shat on for it.

    <sigh>
    It is the life of a public servant sometimes...and it does suck, glad it does not happen too much to me.

    That sounds exactly like everyday I spent lifeguarding at the Eldorado Springs Pool in Boulder.

    And, the first comment I get from the mom is, "Hey, he tried to pay for the soda and you would not let him, I do not see the problem, and why you had to call him a criminal."

    Btw, eventhough his mother is very wealthy, the above student is doing two years in Chino right now for B&E...amazing, eh?
    Sounds to me like that mom needs a good old fashioned grudge fuck. Got her contact info handy?

    Ironically, she actually has my last name, Smith, if you can believe it...but not either of our type--she's a fat overindulging lump-o-shit, but rich (owns an avacado orchard here in Fallbrook and must eat too much of her own product).
