ashley has made it through surgery
the doctors are saying it will be days before we can tell how she will be
they did say that there was less swelling and pressure on her brain than they had expected, and thats a GOOD thing
the docs have placed some sort of gauge into her skull to monitor the amount of pressure
she has been unconcious for about 16 hours now, i know a person who was in a coma for 30 days and survived , so i m remaining hopeful ash will come through and heal

it's going to be a tough , emotional week ahead for all those who are close to ashley , but we will stay strong...

What the hell are vibes? Special mental ESP powers you send to someone you don't know to heal them? I mean c'mon, seriously.

I wonder this all the time... if something happened to a loved one, would a bunch of + signs on a website really make a difference? Then, I figure it can't hurt, so I send them along.

vibes to ashley. 4 wheelers are fun but as someone who's crashed mine before, can get dangerous quick.

one of my little brother's friends was in a coma for about two weeks following a bad ski accident a few years ago. they never expected him to come out of it. he competed in the cycling part of a team triathlon with his parents about 5 months after the accident and is going to be starting college in the fall.

here's hoping for the same for ashley! +++++++++ vibes

she is in very critical condition , expected to stay that way for next 48 hrs +
doctors are trying to control the swelling in her brain, and have reduced her body temperature down in efforts to reduce swelling

her sister says "ask everyone to invision ashley with pea brain "
to help reduce the swelling

sunday afternoon.....
just got a message that ash moved her arm and tried to stop the nurse from suctioning her mouth !!!!
very positive sign!!!
pressure on her brain has gone up and down as the doctors predicted

i saw her twin sister today who was the one with her till medics arrived and man, this is one tough , smart girl who did all she could as she hoped her sister would survive!!

she is so positive and full of good energy you could just feel it !!

thanks to every one who is keeping ashley in thier thoughts and prayers!!!!!!

her family has been and will remain by her side until something changes with her condition

monday night / early tuesday am

i was at the hospital all afternoon and evening, and there were at least 30 plus family and friends that were in and out during that time

it was a very very positive vibe there tonight.....

Ashley has had a stable day, and the numbers on her brain pressure gauge have dropped down substantially since yesterday

they have slowly begun to warm her body temps up towards normal, and are planning to reduce her meds in an effort to bring her out of this state and back to conciousness it will probably begin tomorrow so that was a real good sign.

her vitals have been stable

we also learned she has broken something in the top of her spine/neck area,
and she will be needing at least one more surgery sometime in the near future, she may have to wear one of those halo deals to keep her from moving her neck for a while

things are looking very very positive!! it will be a very long slow recovery, but if all goes well, we are very hopeful she will survive this accident

we also looked at the messages coming in on her myspace as well as her sister's pages, and it was very cool

we also have been taking lots of pictures and made a collage of all the people that have been up at the hospital for support, and i'm so glad this is a very strong ,loving, supportive family and community we live in ,people have really stepped up !! its a good feeling coming from all this sadness.

to every one who has shown love to / for this young girl, THANK YOU from her friends and family!!!!

every little bit of positive vibes helps and is warmly recieved by the family

Ash's mom told me today how much she appriciates the love even from total strangers. she feels in her heart that it is helping her daughter, so even if you are skeptical of what your thoughts/ prayers could possibly do, BELIEVE IT !!! YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE !!!
