What do I need to do about this core shot?

My friend Greg (heluvaskier, never posts though) got a massive core shot on his Stockli DPs while skiing the top of peak 7 at breck. Just before that, he compacted the edge and broke the sidewall underfoot on the same ski after hiking and skiing the terrain above the imperial lift.

It's supposed to dump at A-basin tomorrow, and he wants to ski these. What does he need to do in order to make them skiable tomorrow?

The core shot did not go past the metal. He's more worried about the sidewall de-laming.

I would say to cut out the excess base ASAP, fill the hole with JB weld, let it dry overnight, then ptex and wax right before you go skiing tomorrow..

cut the excess base material. go ski.

deal with the repair later. if you are heading through boulder, i can fix it pretty quickly. sucks about the compressed edge, but they are stocklis, so you really shouldn't worry about the ski randomly exploding. just patch it with some JB stick weld to keep water out of the core.

dude, if it is snowing, who cares. i ski with exposed core shots all the time. and since they are stokli's and have metal just below the base they are fine. the sidewall should hold up on those very well. as marsha said just seal it and ski it.
