    "Steep" The Documentary

Looks like PJ Productions has finally wrapped up production on their documentary "Steep". Should be interesting, as they interviewed alot of folks like McLean, Dawson, Davenport, Coombs, and lots of others.

They bought a couple of Gramps' aerial photos from our Teton fly over filming session last spring. They certainly have more of a budget than any of us small time wankers could ever dream of. As witnessed by what they paid for the photos. There one day meal budget was more than my entire budget for our last project. Jealous, yes.

I saw some of the McLean footy from Iceland. Impressive avy that about killed the group. They had wireless lav mics on during the incident. Disturbing. Also saw some of the cablecam footage of Coombs in BC.

I think they will be releasing it in theaters around the country.

Any[one] going to this? Mrs pilot just told me she wants to drag me along to see some other indie films. This is definitely motivation.

That's what one of their producers told us.

They had a brief 3 minute clip of primarily interview footage of Coombs at the Alpinist Film Festival. It was very cool. If they keep that pace, this will be the best ski movie to date, IMO.

Probably not, as a collective, snowboarders have the attention span that matches their age. They don't know, or care about their history.

I know a lot of forty year old snowborders who only have ten second attention spans, so I call bullshit on that formula!

Tribeca is a rad film fest anyway...you should be sure to catch the shorts. I'm hoping to make it town for a showing of Steep, going down next weekend maybe. Are they going to release on DVD?

I think I'm going to try for either the 4/28 opening show, or one of the Cinco de Mayo shows. (Mexican restaurants/bars are awesome on this day). The more [the merrier]
