Anyway, I agree it depends on if you'll be running into one another or talking casually regardless. If you will, don't worry about it, if not, maybe call to chat every once in a while to make sure the friendship stays going and you're keeping the repeat possibility open. But I think calling the very next day has an air of "relationship" to it that you're not looking for.

Of course this is still a hypothetical, not necessarily question, but more like a discussion.

Hypothetically we dated for two years, kind of rocky, quit dating for good about 9 months ago, took about 6 months to become friends after that. That has actually been going quite well, we both have an understanding that dating is out of the question just because we're too different, but there is still some type of chemistry there, not just physical, but it can't/won't be addressed.

got the same thing you got going on tele...we haven't ever really made an agreement just an understanding and every once in a while when neither of us hook up at a party or just bored and need something to do we give one another a call...i get rid of the after night call by just spending the night and doing a little sweet talking in the morning it seems to keep her insanity at a good level where i can continue on with the "understanding"

Last time I had one of these arrangements it went of very simple. We were friends ahead of time, we hooked up on occasion. We both dated outside of the arrangement, but hooked up for a few months. We could hang out, but something had to be said, verbaly, in private, before a hook up would happen. Spontanious hook ups were not allowed, that could move into other things, such as dinner. Dinner no good in these deals. I always made a point to bring up the arrangement, kills romance before it sprouts.

However, since you dated for some time, and are now looking to do this again, I recomend aborting now. You have been there, done that, it didn't work. I tried this for a while in college. Sounds great on paper, she was a firecracker in the sack, but mental outside of it. I had convinced myself she was normal for some tail. Sadly, I was wrong. I was probably 2 "arrangements" away from a boiling rabbit on my stove. My penis understood.

This never works. I would not call other than to hangout; and by hangout I mean doing something that doesn't involve leaving whoever's place your at and with the understanding that sex will come at some point during the evening (in your case it doesn't have to be the only event of the evening).

That's your only hope. The phone is not your friend in this situation, just as it isn't in booty calls. It should only be used to initiate one; never anything else. Contact outside of each other's places should be avoided as well unless it's a hotel room, the back of your camaro, or a janitor's closet.
