Shrinking smartwool

In an impulsive move of Pavlovian proportions, I bought a XXL smartwool top from SAC. The problem is that the top fits like a cross between a mumu and an African princely robe.

I want to shrink it a size or two, will the regular dry with heat work or will it make it too small--small enough--to fit irul&ublo's ten year old thai boy?

it it has lycra/elastane or some other polyester threads it won't shrink much. if it's merino and woven tightly it won't shrink much. for 100% wool non-tightly knitted stuff it can shrink up to a half.

we've had a couple of the merino underwear stuff in the drier and, apart from the sleeves, nothing shrunk too badly. (the sleeves shrunk a bit more than the rest)

It's not going to shrink much, so just resign yourself to getting some proper accessories and rocking it as is.

Just save it for a year or two. Sitting at a desk for 70 hours a week will make you balloon like Chris Farley.

or wait until the stress of lawyering makes his hair on his head migrate to his chest and back. Although at that point, you probably won't need to buy base-layers.

You would think this would be true. However as an incredibly hairy backed man I can tell you that the hair doesn't keep you warm. It simply builds up an insane amount of static electricity.

As for shrinking the smartwool- good luck- just put it up on ebay for full price or gear swap with some "american grizzly" centerfold.

I washed 7 pairs of smartwool socks and dried them on high last night. They did not shrink. That is all.

Give it to your gf for a winter teddie. You aren't going to get any pie after you start working anyway.
