    Fischer railflex 2 bindings

Hi guys new to the forum but thought you might be able to help. I can't get any sense out of my local ski shop who won'tr touch what i want to do becuase of liability issues.

I've got 1.5 degree canting wedges that fit between my binding and ski that make the skis run flat (actually more complex than that but it'd take too long to explain. Have a look at ski-mastery's website if you want the full expanation - all i know was i went out on the same skis the next day and could suddeny ski better) Now the problem is that most of the decent short radius skis seem to have integral bindings these days.

I tried some Fischer RX8s that i liked but i want to mount my wedges under the binding which is the railflex 2

My questions are can i take the Fischer railflex 2 binding off the ski and if so how? I

If i do is the deck flat under there or profiled, are there flanges and stuff that'll stop me mounting my wedges?

    Phil

Phil, I have AMC 79's with the same binding as the RX8. I don't think you can wedge them. Try looking for a pair of RX8's from 04/05. they were available flat. Check Epic and ebay. They sell pretty cheaply.

Oddly, I have been noticing that I seem to be riding the inside edge of my right ski. This is a new development. I am using the same boots so wtf is that about? Age maybe I don't know

Your posture does change with age. I used to be the same height as my dad but he's shorter than me now. I started having problems after i ripped a knee being drunk dancing bloke at a christmas party and the knee healed back differently. Ever tried to work out from a diagram how all the ligaments in a knee articulate?

Anyone else know what the ski looks like under the railflex 2?

Railflex plates can be taken off. I did it once so a guy could mount D10's on his XP80s instead of the RailFlex 11s. Four little plugs exposed the screws holding the plates on. If you wanted to use your canting wedgies you would have to wedge the whole plate and the n put the binding back on.

Why don't you skip that hassle and just get the soles of your boots ground/canted? Then you wouldn't need to worry aboot using wedgies under your skis.

Ditto the boot canting. A good fitter can do it and then you can ski anyone's skis and still have good alignment.

I like the idea about grinding the boots. Does anyone know anyone in europe who does that? How does it work some sort of jig to hold the boot onto a base grinder?

Wouldnt the boot flanges then be a problem as the flanges would then not be parallel and the binding wouldn't clamp down properly?

My boot canting was adjusted as a part of the fitting but the wedges cant the whole boot not just the cuff

When most shops talk aboot "canting" they really mean cuff alignment. All cuff alignment does is match the cuff angle to the angle of your lower leg.

Canting is done on the bottom of the boot by grinding and rebuilding the toe/heel pieces of the boot.
