The only thing worse than the feeling that you are going to die is the realization that you probably won't.
Damn! I finally revealed my hard-on for Dani Filth. He's just so little and cute and gremlin like with his tiny little body and huge head.
Seriously though, Arch Enemy was opening and I went to oogle Angela's titties. The only grim and frostbitten part of that show was waiting outside in line for an hour during a -20 Calgary winter cold snap.
...the hall was pretty drafty too. That was pretty frostbitten I guess.
ALL HAIL THE NECROWIZARD! HAIL!
Craft - "Terror Propaganda" The vokillist is capable of some really inhuman shrieking. Plus the cover looks just like "Transilvanian Hunger".
AWWW SNAP! You sure JONGed us with your INM etiquette steeze. I concede that you are a bigger fan than I, Oh mighty inverted priest defiler. Although, I doubt you have an INM t-shirt. I do. Wanna touch me?
For inhuman BM screaches I have to go with my old standby Hat's (haha) vokills on Gorgoroth's Pentagram. Those guys are total sellouts and very un-grim, but damn, I doubt Hat talked for a month after recording that album.
The grimmest, most inverted and blasphemous thing ever recorded, however, is the BOING! noise Taake uses on Over Björgvin Gråter Himmerik. That just kills it. BOING!
Gororoth was a good band back then - they only turned gay after Hat's departure. How about Garm (aka Christian Rigg) on Ulver's "Natten's Madrigal"?
The frostbitten jaw harp. Enslaved used the evil jaw harp as well as Mannegarm and Wongraven (not BM,but grim nonetheless). The digereedoo (almost certianly spelled thet wrong) intro on Nargaroth's "Geleibte des Regens" is grim as well. The grimmest, most inverted and blasphemous thing ever recorded, however, is the BOING! noise Taake uses on Over Björgvin Gråter Himmerik. That just kills it. BOING!
The Doors - "The Soft Parade"
Yes, Garm's vocals are raw and frostbitten indeed. I love the rumours about how he recorded that album in the middle of the Carpathian Forest on a four track. Not likely, but kvlt and trve none the less.
Did Garm do both clean vocals and inhuman screaches on Borknagar's The Olden Domain? If so, wow. That dude's got some impressive lungs.
Nice elite BM namedrop session here. I love how all internet black metal conversations turn into people proclaiming their eliteness by listing off a bunch of Norwegian garage bands nobody's heard of before. Not that I'm complaining, but I find it amusing how eliteness directly corresponds with how obscure, unknown, poorly produced and "evil" the bands are.
And another thing, I wonder how many of these bands would get pissed off if you asked them why they're playing a Jew harp?Fucking Norwegians.
Anyways, I'm listening to this:
