Whoa! that is unrealistically far to drive, from sugar to heavenly. It's WAY far away. It's like 1.5 hours if there is NO snow. Too too far.

You're going to be at sugar bowl. Look north shore resorts.

Sugar, squaw, alpine. NOTE: Alpine is cheap(ish). Squaw is bank.

Looks like snow, skis like shit because most of it got blown into the stratosphere. The Heavenly drive is doable, but considering the conditions you might as well just stay on the Northshore and rock the fucking groomers at squaw, at least they run for awhile...

Ullr: WTF man? Do we need to burn some shit?? Olins? Goats? children? Virgins? Whaddya want??

Tell that to everyone I'm staying with. They're doing an early morning hungover rally to go there. I'm going to ski said groomers (mostly) at Alpine right next door.

Vail owns Heavenly... so you probly need a Vail Resorts pass suck as Vail, Breck, Keystone, BC.....

Well....first Colorado is obviously way better right now. But, I know how that goes, when you have a trip already planned.

Squaw was pretty rad last weekend. Very sparce, but you can ski every lift, and due to the low snow there are interesting terrain features everywhere (read silly little rocks to jump off). Agree you shouldnt bother with the drive to Heavenly.

You guys bringing BC gear? The West Shore of lake tahoe (Jakes Peak, Bliss, Rubicon) had great conditions last weekend.....and it is one of the most amazing places you could ever skin (looks like you are going to fall into the lake).

Heavenly does have 1k ft. more elevation than north shore resorts and I can tell you absolutely that the snow at Kirkwood is twice as deep and equally better than Squaw Valley right now. Considering that the forecast is bleak through at least the 15th Kirkwood is by far the best option in the Tahoe region. If you are driving from the North Shore it's not that much further to K'wood.

Yeah someone else mentioned to me that Kwood is skiing the best out of the Tahoe area resorts right now. I guess I'll find out how Heavenly was pretty soon.

There will be some Maggots at Alpine this weekend. Also Prior is doing demo days there on Sunday/Monday if you want to try their stuff.

I'll be there Fri-Mon. PM or email me if you want to connect. Or yell for change in the Summit lift line (or look for the Change sticker on the back of my helmet). I ride hard snowboard boots and a snowboard that looks like a very fat ski (and very long on Friday if the crowds are low).

I was just out there last week and we rode squaw and alpine. You can't beat skiing at alpine for the price. During the week you have the place to yourself. There is still some good skiing out there just have to find the places on the mt. Some of my friends went down to heavenly but they said it wasn't worth the trip. I did hear kirkwood was good but wasn't doing great business at the time....I would rec. skinning on silver peak if poss. ..HTH
