Have you skied the Fatypus in spring corn yet? May be heading to the Bird this month to harvest some Fatypus corn...

    Cha-Ching!

I would totally agree with this from my experience.

When I skied these as I stated in my review, they did heaps of stuff well, esp the chop and crud (hell, ski Breck and A Basin everyday and this is a major factor). But, I didn't so much get heaps of dive, they weren't submarines, but they didnt plane out on top as easily as I expected for the size and shape.

However, with a rental binder mounted at the line, as opposed to being -1cm, and the ski being able to flex due to no rental plate as well as having just come off of a longer everyday ski which cos of my size (about half of Yeti's!) I ski by loading up and driving the tip of (although to watch, maybe not!!!) maybe I skied them differently too which had this result....plus I had one day on them, not a number as others here now have. Maybe with all these factors, I didn't get the full potential out of these. Also, I skied a 2nd Gen ski, you sound to be on the 3rd. Have they changed anything under the hood?

Personally, I would love to get on the new DSender board. 184cm and 112mm - I'm guessing it has very similar characteristics as the Alotta. I reckon it would be a fun ski. But I live in flat and (very) dry Australia now, not Summit Co with 100+ days of skiing!!!

Very possible with regard to changes from generation to generation...seems like they do a lot of testing and tweaking.
    FYI...Just reviewed the DSenders:

fyi mine are blue, not the yellowish green monster trucks. I have no idea if anything changed.

I haven't taken them out in the spring slop yet but I might this week.

Not sure about changes between generations, mine are the new yellow/green ones w/ the monster trucks on the top sheet (hand-scribed serial # 003/07). binding (red s914's) mounted dead center.

Had another great weekend on them at Alyeska fri and sat, got into some good snow. south side outer areas were closed on fri so sat had a good stash. they ski switch fantastically.

No tip-dive issues here (6'-6", ~240), and i am figuring out they like / need to be front loaded up and tip driven on the hard stuff. we're slowly getting closer to spring up here, I am looking forward to trying them. I have noticed they have added drag to go with the added dimensions, not sure how much they are going to get bogged down in the corn...

one note on the bindings, currently at 11.5 front and back, had a couple front releases i wasn't real happy about how easy the ski popped (hard schralping on rutted hard crust). going to set the fronts a little higher before the weekend.

Sounds like a good idea with upping the DIN...everyone has a binder comfort zone but, you have me by 50 lbs and I am 11 front and 12 back.

many, many days later, and these skis rock, by far the best money i've ever spent. ripped the 914's outta the rail last year, now running marker dukes, HUGE difference, so much better. top sheets are worse for the wear, not holding up so well, but they kill it all over the place. highly recommended. and a great way to meet chicks on the lift, or the uptrack.
