Call me crazy, but I'm going to try to usher in some good karma for myself by staying home this weekend.

After almost getting killed in thin cover last winter, I'm going to be pretty picky about that stuff this year. Please be careful and have fun everyone!

Ill be in the Daks. Prolly hit Whiteface Highway EARLY to beat the rain....maybe even the trails, but obviously dependent on coverage. Then at the Brew Pub getting wasted on UBU....

I was just out that way this past weekend. We've had spitting snow in Motown on and off all week, no accumulation but it's starting to have "that feel" around here.

I'll be skinning up Stowe on sunday morning. Reports are of a foot or better at the top of the gondola already. Should be nice if we we get the snow they're calling for this weekend.

For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

I wouldn't be so sure about the snow conditions at Tucks. esp. up in the bowl. In fact the Auto Road and maybe a little summit snowfield action is your only chance for turns. The bowl hasn't filled in enough yet. Check the webcams out at the observatory page:

Was thinking Wildcat, but I just started PT for my shoulder. I am going to see what happens. Too bad Stowe is such a drive, that seems to be where it's at.

Mount Mansfield is the place to go. I can personally vouch. I was up there this morning and did the hike. It was well worth it. Around 3700 feet there was about 18 inches of powder. Nothing like freshies in Ocotober... on the east coast.

I can post pictures in a little while.... the whole mountain has such adequate coverage it is just amazing. We skiied from the top of the gondola to the cars without hitting any sort of rock or dirt. Pictures will be posted sooooon.
I live on the east coast and I'm proud of it.

It is not raining yet, and will probably not be raining until 3 or 4 pm tomorrow, if it rains at all.

Any idea what's happening up to at stowe right now? Rain? How bad? Think they'll still have a base tomorrow? Did anybody go up today?
