help me id this tnf steep tech model

so i dug my trusty old steep tech jacket out of the attic the other day and was wearing it around whis on a lark when some tourist type walks up and offers me 500 bones on the spot for it... i thought he was just messin with me and when i tried to leave he offers me $600!! .. wanted me to walk to the bank machine with him. i was kinda tempted but i've had the jacket for over 11 years and i'm pretty attached to it as i bought it right before i moved out west to launch my career as a ski derelict. so the guy realizes i'm not going for it and gives me his card and tells me the jacket is some collectors piece that was never mass produced yadda yadda and if i ever change my mind yadda yadda.

i've researched the net and ebay and i can't find this model anywhere.

so now i'm curious... any mags have a clue what kind of steep tech this is?

when everything in the world is at its darkest, it takes a big man to kick back and party.

    Was the guy Japanese?
There is a huge collectors market for some of this stuff and I'm guessing that
jacket is worth much more than $600 if you can find the market for it.
ie. Air Jordans for thousands of dollars!
I do remember selling that jacket years ago. It must have been a one year release. Many other of the Steep tech pieces were issued for a few seasons.
fyi- TNF is rereleasing a lot of steep tech because of this resurgence in interest and they have an entire line only available in japan.
you might check ebay japan or some sites like niketalk.com and ask for advice. good luck and I'd bet you get more chicks with $600 in your pocket than wearing that jacket.

Looks like riot police gear from 1980s "futuristic" movies... RoboCop?

    I'd unload that in a split-second for $600.

Meh, if it had the chest pouch it'd push $700...

I don't understand why these go for so much when you can get their "new" one for like $450, but maybe if you PM CANADASTEEPS he might be able to shed a little light on this subject.

I have an old Steep Tech set of jacket and pants buried away somewhere, think I could pull $1500 for them off ebay? Mmmmm, the things I could do with $1500...

Yeah, I think that the pouch was only around for a few years during the early 90's. The big claim to fame was that they were designed by extreme skier Scott Schmit. Based on what I've seen in the last couple of years on E-Bay, I think that yours, if it's in good condition and is a size large or XL should go for somewhere in the $350-$500 range. That belt is supposed to afford you some kind of kidney protection, or so they say.

$600 offer and you said NO......?

I once traded a 15 year old casio sport watch for a dozen gigantic sombreros at the Mexican border. I passed them out to all my buddies when I got home!

take a picture of the jacket so you can always remember it fondly, call dudeman back on the card, hope he hasn't come to his sense, SELL THE FUCKING JACKET, and do whatever you would do with 600 bones.

FWIW I sold a POS TNF Heli Jacket (yellow and black) that I had dug out from the back of my closet earlier this year for $450. Mine was dirty, well used and had a 3" x 3" rip on the back. I don't understand what people want with these, but I wouldn't worry about holding out for more money than $600 on the spot. Dump it and get some boards.

Sell the fag rag and buy some bros.

Can't really be worth over seven hundred. Especially to you!

You don't want to deal with lots of garment people if you don't have to, call the guy say seven hundred shipped. Take a trip to mexico.

Hey, PM me the guy's #

I've got the same jacket, all black, size small. Looks steezy on me, but I'll give it up for the right price. IIRC that was from 94-95 or 95-96.

Plus two other different styles a yellow and black one (classic!), and a red and black one, size med.

Or maybe I should just fly to Japan with the jackets and sell them there to pay for the trip?
