Please Forwared This to the Gear Swap Complaint Dept.

What the fuck is up with maggots trying to bag items in gear swap for all-a-dollar prices? I'm sick of mags gouging for prices that are ridiculously low. I believe you should be able to go on gear swap and get a good deal. But gear swap does not double as a gear graveyard. Much of the gear sold in there is brand new or very lightly used, and I see maggots making offers to other for a quarter of the retail price. Fuck that.
A good deal in gear swap should be a good deal for both buyer and seller. Just because it's a lot of money, doesn't mean it's not still a good deal. It's almost like there's this unwritten rule that anything posted over $300 better have a blow job and life-time warranty included (for the gear--not the blow job) I'd much rather sell my stuff here than on ebay, cause I know the mags actually appreciate legit gear--and to be quite honest--this is a much better place to sell specialized schtuff, but lately--and not just for me--it seems there is a plethora (yes--I just said plethora) of instances where I'm seeing ridiculous offers just to see if one mag can scrape $25 or so off another. Am I alone in this rant? Am I having a case of the Mondays? Am I becoming super sensitive guy just because my wife is 8 mos. pregnant? Please, help.

To be honest -- and I'm being frank here -- I do love the way you can split things up using '--' -- that's right, I said '--' -- it really creates a great sentence flow.

Seriomousaly, though, there is almost always a bidding process in gear swap, and if not the seller doesn't have to sell (the have a variable reserve, as it were). It makes sense to start by throwing out a lowball if the seller hasn't given a fairly explicit price guideline, as it's the only way you can really find out what the seller will be happy with.

Hey - a kid with clean title & registration is worth at least 4x that on the East Coast.

to help alleviate the "Mondays" my gf has instituted "Cake Monday"

every Monday she bakes something and brings it in to at least give folks something to look forward to.

and seriously, stop using the word monday like that. it shouldnt be allowed.
did you all watch office space?

re: the original thread. yea I notice that and am guilty of it myself sometimes. It generally happens when I or the buyer start asking for items to be priced shipped.

I like cake. And yes, this thread would not be where it is right now (wipe tear) without office space. Thank you.

My mondays are remarkably similar to my sundays, only different.

As for gear swap...maggots are dirt bag skiers. They want everything for nothing and a blow job. If a seller has a spine he'll tell the cheap bastards to fvck off and go sell his used pocket rockets on ebay.

same thing is going on in craigslist lately. i post items and a price and people email me offers at half of what i listed it for. I know people are looking for deals and i adjust my price accordingly, but i'm with ya on the whole "its not a deal unless its the deal of the century" trend that seems to be going on. welcome the age of the internet and froogle.
