    Appendicitis or hypochondriac?

    WebMD me:

Flu-like symptoms for about 4 days
    Nausea
    Headache
    Head cold
    Lack of appetite
Off and on sharp pain below the rib cage (not a stomach-ache, but not limited to the right hand side)

Haven't been sick for this many days in a row for a couple years and I usually have this strong aversion against going to the doctor, but something seems fuera del normal on this one...

Well, when my appendix went, it felt like someone stabbed me with an ice pick in the lower right side right about at belt level. I was in so much pain I could hardly walk and couldn't even lay down. It was accompanied by nausea and vomiting. My appendix had burst though since I ignored the initial signs 2 week prior to its removal that included just the nausea and sore abdomen. Ignoring it caused me to spend 8 days in the hospital recovering since my whole abdominal cavity was infected due to the rupture. If it's a standard appendectomy you are normally in and out the same day. It sucked. The silver lining I guess is that my appendix was the largest one my Dr. ever saw so he took it to a medical conference to show it off. Sweet. If I have a regret in life, it's not seeing it in the jar when they asked me. I did get a sweet video though!

From what I remember, its pain in the lower right hand quadrant, that should be very intense (high on the 1-10 pain scale), plus flu like stuff. Sometimes the pain can be described as "sharp" and radiating into your back.

Best medicine would be getting some real medicine. Go see your doctor.

Sounds like appendicitus. When it struck me, I had sharp pain in the lower right quadrant of my abdomen, and some of the most explosive, technicolor vomit ever.

Get to the doctor, then post a TR.

Couldn't find a doctor (I guess they all take long siestas in Peru), but I did see a medical technician and got my hemogram. She said I was sick, but probably not appendicitus.

Any medical mags want to translate what these numbers mean???
    Leucocitos 9550 x mm^3
    Hemoglobina 14.79 gr%
    Hematorcito 44 %

    Neutrofilos segmentados 74
    Bastones 02
    Eosinofilos 00
    Monocitos 02
    Linfocitos 22
    Basofilos 00
    Juveniles 00

If those are in percentages above, then wikipedia says I am at the very top of the normal range for neutrophilic white cells.

Later tonight, I'll try to find a doctor, but thanks for all the help so far. I just really want to avoid surgery in a 3rd world country if I can help it!

Hypochondriac it is (either that or kidney stones says the doctor).

Jesus, to say the least. Are they saying that the, um, creature (pick whatever word you want) was ALIVE?

I need to get more drunk now and forget about this.
