    Boot Shin Insert Material

I need some material to stick in front of my shin or tongue that is roughly 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. It needs to be stiff enough to shove my skinny ass heal into the back for the boot but soft enough that it won't create pressure points. I've thought/tryed soccer shin guards, which are nice because they also give me some more vertical support when leaning forward but am worried about them slipping up and out.

They actually sell an insert for this. I picked one up at the shop that does my boot-fitting last winter. I can't remember the name brand of it, but you can attach velcro stickers to help keep it in place.

try some padding on the outside of the tounge too. will press your heel back, and the stock padding is still against your shin.

Eleminators work too, but sell for $50ish

blue camping foam works for the above idea too

I am a firm believer in this, have been running shin pads for about 3 years now.

My local shop in Truckee (Start Haus) has neoprene sheets that cut to fit....then they just cement them in.

Minicell foam. Kayakers use it to outfit their boats. I've used it for ski boots in the past.

Sweet, I'll look into a few of these and see what works best. here they've got the elims for only 25 bucks. How thick are these things, specifically in the lower part of them where it will be key to moving my heal back? It's hard to judge based off the small amount of pictures I was able to find.

    Thanks

thick enough. like 1/4 inch. but it goes all the way down to you're instep, and comes in sizes, and, of course, can be trimmed. i asume you already moved the buckle teeth thingies over? EDIT: if you're feeling daring, you can drill another hole for them. what boots are we talking about btw? if it's a lange, there is already a groove to drill out the other hole.

Tognar's got some supplies that might help you out. E.g. Eliminators for $20, some foam, pads and stuff.
