How high can your dog jump?

This is Baxter. He stands 16" at the shoulder. He's going after his toy which is stuck on the stump of a tree branch at 81" above the ground at the base of the tree. That's a little over 5x his height!

    Ready!

    Up he goes!

    Got it!

    The trophy!

Here's him on the way down after a near miss.

    Hitting the ground empty handed.

The damn thing won't come loose!

I Thought it might be good for a laugh.

He's a wire haired fox terrier. He's bred to crawl down fox holes and drag them out... for that you need a whole lot of tough and a whole lot of stupid. Baxter has plenty of both. He hasn't figured out that he could jump the fence. He just jumps straight up to get a look over the top.

when i first got my dog i was visiting friends who had cats. turns out my dog LOVES cats. she thinks they are delicious.

they had a dog kennel in the back yard with a 6' fence. i put her in the kennel and before i got to the back door she was right next to me happy as hell. put her back in, started walking back to the house keeping an eye on her. she went right over that fence.

she's 14 now and has trouble jumping in and out of the truck.

here's a shitty pic of us in the beartooths a bunch of years ago

Yoshi doesn't jump up- he jumps out. Specifically, after his favorite frisbee. He just started this, so we need to find him a good dock around Boulder that he can practice on- I"d love to take him to some comps. By eyeballing it, I'm guessing he jumps at least 15-18' right now.

    Sorry for the small pics!

It's amazing how an animal can get into your heart. I actually bought Baxter to keep my 11 year old boxer active. She was a true angel. It worked pretty well but I had to put the old girl down when she was 13. It was not an easy thing to do... And now I love this little shithead Baxter just as much as ever. He is an incredible athlete, but a real asshole around other dogs....
Super pictures of Yoshi too... Thanks!

That dog has mad ups, Maddog. Very cool. No fence could hold Sasha back in the day but she's ten now, doesn't have the springs as much anymore. She's still a kiler though, got another damn groundhog today, those things are messy when they're dead and half-eaten.

    That's freaking awesome.

My dog can only reach my tailgate.

I keep beating him and tagging him with a cattle prod in the hopes of better results. Can't be shamed in public you know.

    Thumbs up

Vvvery cool. Nice looking dog, BTW.

Long-time companion is an Aussie-Shepard/Border-Collie, when she was about 3 I left her in the back yard of a friends house. We went for a ride and upon return, the dog is sitting in the front of the doorstep.Problem being the Dog was left behind an 8' fence. Not quite peicing it all together, we put her back in the yard and acted like we were leaving again. She got a running start and her hind legs caught the toprail at about 6', and over she went over the wood fence. Kiesha, (my dog) is all of about 30 pounds and maybe 28-30" on good day. She's 13 now and doesn't jump as high, but still manages to get out and raise a little hell time to time. Dog's are cool as can be, hard when the get old.

Yeah, Arno? How would she fare out of that window?

I think my mum would get huck neck wicked bad and her ankles would likely collapse. Then she'd have one of her epileptic fits. It wouldn't be pretty.

Our cat 'Agent Gordon' would have no problems.

That is amazing!! Very cool little doggie ya gots there.

Our little white cat, who is like 14 inches long not counting the tail, can jump about 4.5 feet without even thinking about it. I wish I could do stuff like that. Then maybe I wouldn't have to take the elevator at work and endure all the coughing and farting.

That's a SWEET dog, looks like heaps of fun.

Um, do wire-hair fox terriers shed?
This touchy-feely Kumbaya shit has got to go.
