KEXP is way cool because of the archive feature.

WERU 89.9 (We are You, get it!) out of Blue Hill, Maine. Started out of a chicken coop converted to a studio by Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul, and Mary. Wednesday night 8pm has a great Roots Culture Reggae show with great DownEast storytelling. WERU.org
KUAA 99.9FM is listener supported and having their fund drive right now! Do it...

I am not affiliated with KUAA, but I love it. Check it out.

I kinda hate that all the non-commercial stations do their fund drives at the same time but I get it. Switch from MVY (reluctantly, and only because the haranguing gets old when you've already given them money) and WFUV, WXPN, KEXP etc. etc. are all doing the same thing.
For times like that I listen to the pretty great WRNR-FM. RNR (Rock N Roll, you get get it, right?) is a really good commercial station with deep roots back to the truly great WHFS (a DC legend). A few commercials is a small price to pay to get away from all the guilting.
While I have spotify with tons of playlists I made and Youtube concerts are fun background, usually while I work I use the Alexa in my office and listen to WFUV, If I dont like the song or DJ, "Alexa play WXPN," or Alexa play KRCL.
Weekday morning work and evening pretty well covered.
great mix and good new music
KBOO 90.5 FM Portland
https://www.jiveradio.org/ - Schizoeclectic music - they have repeaters across the country in addition to internet streaming.
I read bad Brad is the station manager. I like it a lot, but when they play some famous song recorded in Spanish, i change the station (and i speak Spanish!)
Yeah, circus brown is great, so is Mike and the Thursday night psych out. Both on Krcl.
On KUAA, i listen to the Tuesday night show, Long road home. Never know what you are going to get.
I also notice that KRCL has changed it up a little bit during the day, probably in response to the competition. Or not, who knows. But i think I've noticed it ...

KDPI in ketchum is pretty good. Been listening to that pretty much nonstop the last 3 weeks. 88.5.

I listen to WMVY pretty much every night. Bill Narkewicz at 6:00 ET is a great DJ. https://mvyradio.org/listen
So, I go back and forth between WMVY (on right now) and WBJB. MVY musically can veer a little too much towards the maudlin folk, but generally it suits an old fogey like me. But yeah, the fund drives are just brutal. I have XM at home to avoid that, but I generally listen to satélite in the truck, for whatever reason.
Forum Cross Pollinator, gratuitously strident
There is a reason for these fund drives; these stations are largely listener-supported. They play what they want to because they aren't beholden to format & advertisers and thus no commercials. Support them for the same reasons you support your local coffee shop.
Send some money to keep them alive. Or don't. But can't bitch about the fund drives.
Montani Semper Liberi
Well after you give them money they should give you a code to get to a begging-free stream for a while or something.
I'm kidding, but Radio Paradise is listener supported and they never beg and I give them money partly because of that.

Bringing this post back to the surface.
It’s a great opportunity to shamelessly plug a radio show I do with my buddy on KDUR - even though we’re currently on winter hiatus.
Cyclesquawk. Fridays at 9am. Starting back up in March or April.
Squawkin everything about bikes. Racing, commuting, trails…anything bike related.
Last year’s episodes here https://www.durangocyclery.com/cycle-squawk
Sep Kuss, Chris Blevins and other Durango folks as guests.
KZMU has a really good hip hop vinyl show Saturdays at 7pm: Ill Beats Radio
Definitely enjoyed KGLT Bozeman when I was up there around Xmas.
