It's not on the list since it's still tentative, but Bob Schneider may be playing Park City on August 24th (if not PC then he'll be in Jackson).

Thanks for that post Buzz...now I just need to rearrange my schedule to fit everything in.

    a couple of Caveats:
    1) the group Herbie is touring with was the weakest part of his 4 different ensembles the other night (full TR to come yes I know) its very, um,"progressive" Jazz violin, nylon guitar w/ Bobby Ferrin type vocals, electric bass, synth, etc. prolly wont hear any classic HH
2)the show of the summer was proly last night:6/27 Tuesday
John Hiatt / North Mississippi Allstars damn although JM-> hot tuna could be a kisk in the ass.
    3) WOW
    7/13 Thursday

    7/14 Friday

just rent a room downtownand take that friday off
thats 2 solid days of music. sexton will end by 10 walk over to the depot, go till close sleep in get up and start pre partying at a range of seedy SLC bars for Social D; ITV is a small club, to see social D there would be amazing

    4) Franti @ Gallivan wil be a junkshow, go late,go high and dance, no reason to get space as it will get pushed together.badly.

5)Galactic @ Harry Os should be a rocking good time.

Average White Band is playing at the Jazz fest on Sunday. I have seen them once before, they range from good funky stuff to horrible slow jam crap. I would say that due to the price (free) its probably worth checking out.

Is it just me or is Snowbird charging high tier prices for mid tier bands?

Looking forward to the Franti & Spearhead Show next week. Anyone interested in getting some beers before hand?

Rodney Branigan is playing at the Hard Rock in Salt Lake this Saturday night, $8.00. I had never heard of him until he opened for G-Love at the SLC Arts Festival fundraiser last May. Dude plays two guitars at the same time. Actually really cool to watch, amazing shit.

Apparently Willie is sold out, so you get to pay these prices if you want to still see em:

    Insanely High Willie Pricing

I really wish more artists would take a stand against shit like that. It would be nice to see Willie find out the ticket numbers being resold, cancel them (without a refund), and resell new tickets at face value.

Nothing pissed me off more during the Olympics than the fucking douchebags that were SELLING tickets to the evening show that were handed out for FREE. Okay...maybe the dipshits that actually PAID for the FREE tickets were worse.

There are a ton of good shows coming to UT that aren't on that list. Actually I don't plan to see a single one of those shows above but I'll be hitting the four listed below. I already have tix for 3 of the shows. I just can't find where to buy the Jason Lytle tix online or by phone.

Jason Lytle of Grandaddy - 08-03-06 - Urban Lounge
Death Cab for Cutie - 08-08-06 - Mckay Events Center
Andrew Bird - 09-17-06 - In The Venue
    Ladytron - 10-10-06 - The Depot

Yes, I know this is not a complete list of all bands playing.

Remember Andy you met while on hold for Radiohead tics at the Bird Parking lot? This is his work.

Wolfmother and De La are must sees. For some reason, I want to drop the coin for Ladysmith Black Mambazo too.
