    Software programming mags (NSR)

In recent months the company I work for has been developing a new website. My responsibility has consisted of designing new content for said website. In this project, I've realized that their is an enormous missing link that could move my company from the industry leader to the even more industry leader. Anyway, it would be a pretty extensive software package that we would integrate into the current website. If I could develop it, I know they would buy it from me for a healthy sum. The catch: I don't know jack about programming.

What's involved in designing software to test trading systems? Any software programmers out there with any input, specifically financial software?

There is all sorts of testing. Black box testing where users know what the app is supposed to do and they try and break it. There is unit testing where developers write test harnesses to test code classes. There is stress testing where a tool, either custom built or an off the shelf application, mimics many users and records the applications response versus load.

It's going to be hard for anyone to give you an answer to this without more detail. It depends on what aspects of it you're testing, how complex the system you're testing is, the amount of variation between systems that you have to test is, and so on.

pleanty of testing packages the can do what ever you need to do. goto www.mercury.com and look at Winrunner, Quick Test Pro and LoadRunner.

I have actually used all these applicatons to test TX processing for Instinet a while ago. The stuff is pricey, but if you have competent programmers, its worth it.
I resolve PC issues remotely. Need to get rid of all that pr0n you downloaded on your work laptop? Or did you just get a ton of viruses from searching for "geriatic midget sex"? Either way I can fix them. PM Me for maggot prices.

Telephil - can you be more specific as to what kind of trading? I have a buddy who works IT for Freddie Mac and I know he's written a few of their proprietary applications that deal with trading mortgage backed securities.

I'd be happy to put you in touch with him.
Of all the muthafuckas on earth, you the muthafuckest.
