    Summit Appreciation Thread

To Summit, who is a good dude.

He has given me a place to crash more times than I can count (even when my neck was broken) and even let me stay at his place to "house sit" a couple times when I just needed to get to the mountains. He introduced me the world of non-horsepiss, non-pilsner beer. He (and others, thanks guys) threw me off the biggest huck I've accomplished. He and those same others gave me the best weekend of skiing I've ever had with their ninja pit-digging rope-ducking studfinder steez. He got me into photography and even has some pretty good pictures of me skiing pow. He's a damn fine photog from what I have seen, if you haven't noticed. He acted responsible for me at the Mini when he definitely didn't have to. Not to mention the McGuyver steez...

Basically, the dude has just done a LOT of cool things, both for me and for the Maggot collective. He knows SO much about so many things that it's pretty impressive. AND he's modest about it. Great to get from you the information I've gotten about mountaineering, emergency medicine, photo, skiing in general, der poopenhausen, and everything else, Summit.

Next time I crack an ice cold brew, A, I'll raise it in your honor and reflect for a few moments before enjoying what will likely be a pale ale. Thanks for helping to fuel the fire of stoke for me through both your hospitality and your pushing me. The help won't be forgotten.

I'm posting this and not sending a PM because I know for damn sure I'm not the only one here with these sentiments. Let's hear 'em.

    That it's a great thing.

Actually that it's something to be joked about. A LOT. And that the half life of some humor can actually be a long-lived one.

It's true! He is spancered by Acme!
Here he is rigging up cell phone batteries to power the video camera to download a ski day's footage from Vail. He had assorted batteries and resistors all configured with jumper wires and duct tape. If you look close you can see the rocket powered in-line skates he's building.

Yeah Summit has helped me in many ways as well. I go to him for computer questions, avy questions, SAR questions, photo questions.... I stay away from der poopenhausen however (What is he teaching you, Max???? )I've made good use of the pullout couch in his living room, as well as his hot tub. I've shared too many bottles of wine with him, only to make fun of him when he gets tipsy after a glass or two

    Cheers to Summit!

Summit let me crash at his place for two and a half weeks after my house was boarded up for the rest of the spring. He didn't even kick me out after I lost his roof rack for his car. Thanks for the place to crash at, the good company, and for introducing me to your hot lady friends.

Summit's turned into the playa, hasn't he?

It was so hilarious about the roof rack. I pull down into the main lot at A Basin and he's on top of some unknown vehicle, pulling the rack off. I got such a kick out of helping him get back his stuff. All's well that ends well, except I did drop the rack on the highway once.
