Yet another help me i wanna move out to Utah thread

I know a lot of 20 somethings on this board have posted threads about where to take a year off or where to move out west.....so here's another....

Before throwing myself into work the moment i graduate college, i think i want to try and enjoy life a little and ski as much as possible. I have a couple friends who are in the same boat so we are looking to get some cheap housing and a part-time night job. We have been considering the Tahoe area, Jackson and Utah but i love Utah so i'm leaning towards it.....although the nightlife etc. isn't the best, the snow and the people i've met out there rock. So when do i need to look for a job/place to live? Wait till the end of the summer? Is it best to find a place to stay through a resort or should i try and find a place in Sandy or Salt Lake? I am going out there purely to ski. I'm gonna be saving up money so i don't need to get a legit job. So what do you guys think? Utah over Tahoe a good idea? Maybe bartend at night? Thanks....

I lived in Salt Lake and really liked it= if you have a car, easy (and quick) access to big and little cottonwood... You can PM me if you decide to get a job as a bartender out there, a couple of my friends are still working various restuarants in SL.

I can't speak for jobs, but getting a place to live shouldn't be a problem. If you're gonna bum though, you should do it right. Get a job on the mountain and live in emp housing. You're still young and dumb, you can handle it.

I don't know if it's too late, but you ought to call around at Alta. Lay on the Jersey accent and say fuck a lot and you'll be in.

You're not too late for Alta at all. Just put in your application online, they'll either e-mail or call you (they did both for me) to tell you they've received it and that they'll call again when they start hiring in September. Easy.

ya; we's got one of those ... you're gonna have to fight PowHo for her though

best bet is to take Sup 101 from Professor Phunk before approaching her though; otherwise you could be left with nothing but the Nups
