Got my hands on a prototype Volkl

    Made you look.

Seriously, this actually is a prototype of the V-Engine 10 racquet. The VE10 has been released with different paint job, but these were sent out to shops as proto/demo models. I personally like it without all the yellow. Saw it at my local shop for $50 and picked it up. I think it normally retails for $150. It's definitely a player's racquet. You need to be able to generate your own pace on the ball, but if you can, it's suppossed to have sweet feel and control. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm interested in how it compares to my Yonex RDX 500 MP. Basically, it's like the explosiv of Volkl's racquets...or maybe a race stock DH board.

*Aside: I get most of my tennis info from the forums at tennis-warehouse.com. It's like the gapic ski of tennis. Man, you should see what those losers find to talk about. Makes us look

Wow. That is one shapely Volkl. Definitely not an explosiv replacement.

    That's some serious reverse sidecut...

Nice racquet. I just recently returned to tennis after a l o n g layoff.
i'm seriously stoked to be swinging a racquet again.
So far, I have been demo-ing Prince Racquets which seriously cracks me up because when I played in college, only overweight, gapers used oversize racquets.
I agree with your take on the tennis-warehouse board. I'm gonna campaign until TGR adds a tennis forum PM Gear needs to start making racquets

Take a look at Yonex and Babolat. I also just got back into it last summer after a 5 year layoff. Started off with Babolat Pure Drive + (Roddick's racquet) and I wish I'd had it back when I was in high school. It's like cheating. I've moved on to a more "player's" type racquet in the Yonex RDX 500 and now this thing. I'll sell you that babolat cheap if you're interested.

I am looking to replace my prince mid size and am looking for a damp players type racquet. I love Volkl skis and have been temped to try some of their raquets - any reccomendations?
