Kirkweed roll call 1/10-11 and Call the Kirkweed report!!!

Ha!!! My daily dose of comedy is to call the Kirkweed snow report 1-877-KIRKWOOD

It sounds like Cokehead is having Coke withdrawals today.....fucking hilarious

    "Thanks..........................for.............. ....... calling...............Kirkwood............it ........... is............ friday ...........morning..just after....5am......early....in... the ............. morning............"

    instead of the usual

"THANKSFORCALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLINGKIRKWOOD! IT IS 5AM IN THE EARLY MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I'm out for the weekend. gonna be chasing some T&A in Vegas

Hey Schmear, don't worry Telenater and I will be up there, so you can change nickles with a couple of us at least. 10 at 10. And what's this about 10 and 6 being on hold????????

We're driving up from Sacramento early tomorrow morning, do a full day, then do a half day on Sunday. I'm driving this time, so I say we do a little drinkin' in S. Lake Sat. evening.

I hear there's no powder projected in the next day...I mean, when is the last time it snowed there anyway? Hello? Ullr?

    Bueller?

    I'll be there tomorrow.
This warm wind sucks! Been hanging out in shorts here and the snow is just evaporating (actually sublimating) before my eyes!

The exact same thing happened last year... Awesome December and then nothing until March. Is it still winter or what? I am wearing short sleeves in the Bay Area and driving around with my windows down. WTF!??

    But last week was awesome

Temperatures on the remote satellite gauge at nearby Caples at 8k showed lower 40s midday Thursday near freezing last night and lower 40s today. So no hard freeze and a couple days into the 40s a bit won't be such a big deal. Although that will melt a bit of surface snow, there ought to be lots of fine snow just below the surface from last week's cold dump. It's mid winter so quiite a bit of the mountain and particularly the chutes never see sun. I'm glad they only received 2 inches of wet snow this week versus the threat of a major pineapple storm media was chattering about. Instead the exceptionally heavy cold air mass which came in last weekend was not about to be pushed away by those warm systems so beat the szhit out of em. Seen it before and will happen again. Just a few skiers down each run will uncover fine snow. Center Wall ought to a blast.

RB, And as to last season, that was a bit different in that the huge pineapple storm came in after Christmas and totally buried all the good cold snow we had been getting. Then like you say it dried up. -dave

6, 3 and 4 were shut all day today, but they opened 10 around 11am. Conditions were hard windpack, but not too bad. hardrider, kush, and I spent time off 10 most of the midday and had a rail box slide session in the pm. The park and the the pipe are in good shape. Was a good day for that stuff. Hopefully, the winds will let up a bit.

like the Dawg said it wasnt too bad today. I think everyone is a tad spoiled from the past few weeks. The snow is chalky and firm but totally edgeable. If the wind dies down tomorrow should be really fun. But whats with that monster out in the Pacific?? Just saw it on the WC radar, could be interesting come monday.

I'm out for manana, Schmear. My permalashed neck keeps acting up. The more I take it easy, the better it gets, but I kinda pushed it by going today. Plus, Arty pushing me out of the chair almost added a concussion to my plethora of aches. I was a veg all day.

From here on out I'll be up quite a bit, so we'll hook, no worries. I've basically spent the entire first third of the season skiing in Washington.
