Thumbs up April pow pic thread

I HEART April pow - I think more than May pow but I won't be able to tell you for sure until May. I've got a good feeling that this is gonna be one fine month. Mammy is off the hizzle, Palisades looks like just any old bowl, it's NUKING outside the office here in PC, the Wasnatch is loaded, JH is looking silly, the PNW is ready for the second half of the season to start. Yea, I'm pretty stoked about all things snow right about now.

Dusk patrol (rare for this guy) today with Stoy and then back to my regular scheduled program of a Dawn Patrol (again with Stoy) tomorrow morning.

Pics to follow. If you get some April pow pics this month, bring it!

dusk patrol kicks ass. I went out for my first one last night. Good snow, a couple of hours to mess around without having to worry about being late to work and to top it off, not having to get up at 5am.

    As promised

Stoy and I did a little dusk patrol last night. Forgot the camera but the images of skiing deep pow in some very nicely gladed pines in twilight will be an image I won't soon forget.

But, we did manage to get up early this morning for 2 laps on a slope I've been looking at for a LONG time (since 96 when I moved to Park City). After a very in your face skin through 12" of the good stuff we were well rewarded. I can only imagine how deep it was at 10,500'. (were were skiing low lying fruit - elevation 7,000'-8,600') I'll let the pics tell the story.

The "I'm such a pimp" Stoy pic

Stoy really is a pimp (a little blury)

    Gotta get my own

On the second run it was getting warmer and this little slab pulled out.

The exit strategy - East Coast goodness for an East Coast Stoy.

Nice to see Stoy still getting after it even after entering the "real world" this pic makes me regret my entry into this hell hole of a cubicle I am sitting in now.

Well, the canyons didn't suck at all today. Got up there late morning and it was setting up just perfect for the spatulas. Ended up doing marathon laps on north face and fantasy ridge. The lines and cliffs on north face have filled in sooo nice.

Looks like you guys got the south east side iron mountain this morning eh? Good as you had hoped?

No complaints - other than I had to be to work and couldn't spin another lap.

Nice, I believe I saw your tracks while at the post office this afternoon.

Did you approach it from the standard hiking trailhead?
