Supersport 5 Star w/Motion Lt Easy Step vs Marker Motion AT Bindings W/PCOS

    Hi all,
I am an advanced intermediate skiier and would like to make an entrance into the next level and mostly ski in the east coast. I am 5'10" and 140 lbs. I am planning to buy the Volkl Supersport 5 star skis (161 cm) but I am not sure which of the two bindings to get. Has anyone demoed or tried the two and have any recommendations. I did some reading online - about AT being more advanced and PCOS helping in high speed vibration control. I am leaning towards the Supersport 5 Star w/Motion Lt Easy Step as its about a 100$ cheaper but are there any significant differences between the two to decide to go with the AT bindings with PCOS instead?
    Thanks all!!

I have reason to believe ssudha17 is a goddamn Cylon.

I wouldn't go with Marker AT bindings. Your best options would be Dynafits, Freerides, or Naxos. That's cool that you're pushing the bc boundaries on 5 stars. You should be able to find skinny skins pretty cheap right now over at STP...

first post was by far the most helpful you'll get here.

    seriously.

come back when you feel ready to get off the groomed. and the 5stars.

it isn't a "we're too cool" thing. we're just different folks. we like different strokes.

And most of us don't like Markers, either.

For context, my wife is also trying to transition from advanced intermediate to the next level. And like you, she skis 160s. But she's 5'4", and her 160s are 95mm wide Phat Luvs, not 68mm wide 5-stars.

    Volkl 5 stars

My hubby demo'd too. About your size. If you buy them new they come with Marker Motion bindings. They are a top of the line ski and binding. Check out Volkl's web site. He normally ski's 200cm Rossi's and enjoyed the ride on this ski. Demo'd the 163 Super Sports, was told it would take a while to adapt, but I found immediately it was effortless skiing. I would recommend a lest a 175 cm to a peson of your size. These were a bit too short of a ski and they were a little squirrely at high speeds. If your into speed check out the 175 Volkl Superspeeds......they rock and ride like the Bentley of skis. Solid, unbelievable edging, and they know only one direction DOWN.....FAST!
Hope this helps. And to the chumps that think your on the wrong forum...don't fall in front of someone of thses skis!

i would reccomend the motion TT bindings on my 184 volkl 724 pros, which happen to be for sale at this current juncture
Three fundamentals of every extreme skier, total disregard for personal saftey, amphetamines, and lots and lots of malt liquor......-jack handy

always with the bentley comparisons...so you're saying they're snobby and overpriced?

and yeah, i don't care if you fall or not. You're still on the wrong forum.

Volkl Supersport 5 Star 168cm Piston Motion Comp 1400s I'll sell em to you for $300 in excellent condition about 25 days on them. (too short for me out west, i guarantee those 161s are too short for you. you will overpower them and you could sure use the extra edge)

    I'm in CO.
