I am so sorry Tri, but I have to tell you going fast is a blessing. Every day my wife and I talk about is it time and it sucks.
Anyways, Hozho left room for a new pup that really needs a good home once you're ready

    Take care

Sorry to hear, Tri-u. I’ve been there with the same age dog, same diagnosis and same suddenness of symptoms. I went a long time feeling like years were robbed from me.

Sorry, Tri-U. Our neighbors had to put down their 12 y.o. black lab Scout today. He started having seizures recently that quickly escalated to an almost hourly ordeal. He didn't eat or drink for almost two days so they decided it was time. Doggie hugs all around today.

Our good boi Hózhó was doing fine last week, but we noted he was drinking a lot of water. His appetite suddenly decreased this past Thursday. We took him to the vet yesterday and his labs were slightly off, so his vet started him on antibiotics. Last night he started throwing up and this morning he couldn't eat and started with diarrhea. We took him to the vet ER, his labs were off the charts and an ultrasound showed disseminated tumor throughout his liver. As an oncologist, I knew this wasn't recoverable, and would only lead to a miserable end, regardless of whatever we did.

We had to put him down this afternoon.

It was all so fast. He was 9 years old, and in good health until 3 days ago. He was the best boi. We asked for him to wait for us at the rainbow bridge with our other two dogs.

    Hug your pup tonight.Attachment 502475

    Sending so many positive vibes.
When a loved friend passes so quickly, it's the most difficult thing to work through but it's also a place to realize just how much love they bring to you and how much love you gave.
I've experienced dogs who've gone quickly and dog's who've gone the long road of decline and most recently a dog who had a few weeks of figuring out how to help her across the rainbow bridge....
all have had their places in my heart.

Let that paw print on your heart guide you and comfort you. All the best love to you.

Well, today is the day I let my girl Maya go. She had a great dinner last night with all her favorites topped with a beautiful tenderloin steak. Just finishing up some bacon and eggs with a little kibble. The vet will be here at 11am and we took our last slow 1 block walk this morning. I wanted to take her to the beach, but she is in to much pain to allow me to put her in the car
We met her almost 13 years ago at dog beach. I told her owner how beautiful she was and that I wanted a second buddy for Gunther. 10 minutes later he walks up and tells me he needs to re-home her. WTF? He called me a couple of weeks later and said I could come get her and the rest is history. We all had so many great adventures together, but I always regretted not living in the mountains with them as they loved it so much up there. Luckily the beach was a close second and they got lots of that. I am trying to hold the emotion back, but I know I am going to be crushed without her. Losing her is the end of the best years of my life. Luckily Gunther snapped back and is hanging in there. Some pictures of my bestest little girl.

Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Awwww, L2S, Maya is a beautiful dog and it sounds like, by all measures, you did absolutely right by her. Sending you and the Mrs. good vibes and lots of love. I hope her memory is a blessing in your life.
