Sorry to hear benk! As someone who fairly recently had to put down his old husky I can relate to alot of your experiences. For a long time I thought this scenario was how my husky would leave me. Hopefully you can get some closure.

Benk, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope that you're reunited with Yogi and have a chance to say goodbye, but if not, it sounds like he made up his mind and maybe he was saying goodbye in his own husky way. Wishing peace to you and your family.

That was a tough read, I’m so very sorry. Psychologically I’d say that’s more difficult than a vet visit. I wish you peace as you try to find closure.

    As always this thread sucks.

The worst vacation ever but we got a call when we got home today that two hikers had found him 3miles south at the end of the jetty where the Nehalem River meets the Pacific. We turned right around and drove back to the coast to pick him up from Animal Haven by the Sea Rescue https://www.animalhavenbythesea.org/contact/. They will definitely be getting a donation from us for the holidays. They spent most of the day/nights out looking for him and ultimately arranged to pick him up via ATV.

He spent 3.5 days & 3 nights out on his own. So happy Yogi is home, he’s getting the princess treatment Click image for larger version.

That’s heartwarming. I’m very stoke for you two to have a proper pampering and farewell. As well as your wife of course.

Good deal benk! I have not so fond memories of chasing my asshole ~10 year old husky around the north end of the beach at Manzanita and through the dunes.

My old dog gets a little bit of chicken mixed in everyday. He likes chicken. And yes, my dog pretty much gets the Princess treatment at this point.

Yogi seems hell bent on leaving you some stories before he makes his way across the bridge. Good boy, Yogi.

Man, I checked in hoping to hear Yogi was found and am so stoked to see him home. Keep that kook on a really long leash.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Man, so great to hear this update! Especially since I spent all morning in an avalanche probe line. Everything ok on that front to. There’s a lot of terrain and smells for a dog to get lost in, in that zone.

Nice to see a happy ending! Missing my old guy (and my brother) pretty bad with the holidays.
    No longer stuck.
