Huge props to fineline! Looks like the maggots know how to spot a winner...

Sick and ashamed and happy (and that's quite the margin, too),

Number one female would have placed a solid 6th in the male comp. Nice.

Sick and ashamed and happy (and didn't mean to ignore grizz: huge props to you as well!),

Any word on how the comp is going today? Guess I don't even know when it was supposed to start.

The list has the qualifier results... he is pre-qual. Should have results on today's list if it can be found.

try the first one. didn't nick work at the p-dawg last season? i saw his run today and it was impressive. threw a 3 w/ a grab at the end too. i missed ej's run but he's one of the best tele skiers i've seen. he's mounted alpine for this though.

Alright, this will be a quickie cause I am absolutely beat.
The short of it is that I didn't make the finals. Oh well. I tried my best and that's all I can ask.
I showed up at 8:00am this morning and didn't get to ski my run until 4:00. Needless to say, my nerves were absolutely shot by the time I skied. The weather had not cooperated all day long, and it was tough to get more than 2 skiers down before the top of Silver Fox would fog up again.
Other than just the whole day of waiting, I had to wait on top--skis hanging over the edge, poles gripped white knuckle style--for 30 min. for the fog to clear so I could go. When I got the go ahead, it wasn't prime lighting, but I wasn't about to let it pass me by.
I came into the top of my line not entirely sure of my first air. The fog and flat light didn't help my situation and I crashed off my first 15-footer. I didn't lose a ski, and got up quickly, but I knew I'd had it.
I still put together what I feel was a fairly solid run after that. I hit a routine 15-footer and cranked some big turns to skier's right side--one that hadn't really been skied all day. This side has less exposure, but I wanted to do something different and link up some clean, different airs. As I made my way towards the bottom, I hit another 15-footer fluidly and proceeded to hit a double that I had scoped earlier. I checked my speed and tried to gather my wits and directions (as I was still dazed and disappointed from my fall). I found my double at the bottom and stuck it--10 footer to 20 footer with plenty o' heat--almost going over the bars.
I got to the bottom and breathed a big sigh of relief. I was disappointed that I fell, but happy to have competed just the same. As cliche' as it sounds, you can't win if you don't play the game.
Lots of skiers went big today--some nailed it, some blew up. I tried to stick with what I felt comfortable with under the conditions. Many of the landings were PLENTY firm by the time I got to em' (100 skiers later) and I just wanted to ski a clean, fast, fluid line.
As APD mentioned, the Frenchies were killin' it today. Nick Greener took second--which was sweet. Julian's front flip was absolutely one of the most sickter mcrichter things I've ever seen. And mad props to all the other mags out there today. I didn't see fineline ski, but I imagine she killed it. Good luck to the mags competing tomorrow. It will most definitely go off. Wish I was joining you. Maybe next year eh? Thank you, and good night.

^Grizzle, your run was awesome. If it weren't for that tumble at the begining it would have been high scoring for sure. Your double at the end was really impressive! Big props to you, and thanks for saying hi today!

Yeah, the conditions were harsh. It was the same story all day, I couldn't really see and I think was a bit too over aggressive. But I barely slipped in and made finals so I am definately stoked about it. Tomorrow is going to be absolutely crazy, good times for sure.

Grizzle and fineline way to get out there and represent!
I think that the human mind is unique among all other forms of life in that it can spontaneously create unique thoughts and provide unique behaviors. Instead of rewarding that uniqueness we, for some reason probably because of cultural and social necessity, we chastise unique behavior and reward conformity.
